    My car runs at 80dB at 75mph. I don’t want to go to the mechanic… so, I’m using my AirPods with noise canceling and I’m listening to my podcasts through that, now.

      That would be against the law where I live because you might not hear emergency vehicles or car horns with noise cancelling headphones in.

        Sure, but it’s cold AF out now and I’m bald, so I’m wearing my winter skull cap that covers my ears.

        Also, I think being pulled over for not being able to hear through my AirPods is the least of my worries. I’m pretty sure somethings fucked up somewhere and it’s going to cost me an arm and a leg to get fixed. The anxiety is real.

        Exactly, and using the car audio ramps it up to 90dB… just to hear my podcasts over the sound of the car. Hence AirPods.

        It’s scary. And I hate being an adult in my fucking mid 30s having to pay for roof leakage repair (~1.5K), gutter upgrade (linked roof issue, ~3.4K), and now car issues?!? I can’t even right now.

        I wanted to have a fence put in for my front yard, and matching front porch ‘fence’ upgrade… but, nope. Not happening any time soon.

        I almost hate that I upgraded my smart watch and phone, first time since 2018, but I’m riding that ‘new tech’ high so… w/e. 🤷‍♂️

        Edit: if anyone’s wondering… I’m stressed AF and righteously angry about class warfare in the US and globally. I make a decent living, and combined with my wife we break 6 figures. WTF am I so anxious and financially strapped when I’m not taking month long holidays like Europeans do? WTF does having 1/3rd of my annual income in the bank not feel like enough every time I look at my bank accounts and/or have to fix something?

        I’ve got some rodent in my attic and obvious entry points in the attic sidewall… and just thinking about calling TWO fucking contractors to fix the issue scares me and makes me want to cry. TWO contractors, maybe even THREE! A carpenter to fix the exterior, an exclusionist to ensure that everything is sealed, and a rodent specialist to remove the fucker. 🤦‍♂️

        Edit 2: and I also need to set up a new PCM (2-3 years over due), and I should probably get therapy because I need to talk to someone about this anxiety and the Internet sure as shit isn’t a good way to go about it. (And neither is alcohol)
