Found this guy through Rddt ages and ages back. He put up a video of the Korg Poly800 side by side with his plugin emulation, and tbh it was spot-on for me.

You obviously need some way to load the software instrument (eg a VST shell or a DAW/music software like Cubase) and some way to play like a midi controller (you could program in notes in most DAWs though)

I feel like this guy needs more love for the sheer effort he’s put into creating these.

      I think I’ve played with about 2/3rds of his stuff over the past couple of years. Weirdly I found I preferred them to paid options. Just wish he did Roland and Emu gear as well, but understand why when you’re a fan of particular synths and keys

            I have a hard time finding synth bass sounds I like, but I love their Lowdown bass synth pedal VST. I’ve started adding it to nearly every patch. u-he Diva is another with good Roland-y options, but that one’s pretty well-known already I suspect.
