These high power arm chips are really interesting. I feel like this is a good problem to have.
I bet someone at some point said “256 is futureproof”. We’re well into Amdahl’s Law at this point.

Back in 2021, a patch was sent out proposing the ARM64 CPU core limit be increased to 512, but Linux maintainers denied it because no CPU hardware was available at the time with more than 256 cores.
It’s their niche hardware, they should develop a patch for it. It’s not like this is a desktop CPU that people will be using day to day.
They have submitted a patch, as stated in the 1st paragraph of the article.
