    Lol, they’ll do anything to fight mental health issues besides give workers more money and time off so they can actually live dignified lives. Anecdotally, self-medicating with MDMA has helped me immensely, but it’s not a magic cure-all. Success with it requires deep introspection and behavior modification when you’re OFF the drug. MDMA therapy can ease trauma on an individual basis, but if the material conditions that allowed that trauma to occur in the first place are not addressed, then you’ll fall right back into the same negative thought patterns. A lot of the time, people flock to substances like MDMA to “cure” their depression, never address the material conditions actually causing their depression, and end up just abusing the substance believing regularly down-regulating their serotonin receptors is going to somehow lead to long-term success and not a deeper darker hole to dig yourself out of.

      That’s pretty much the case with any sort of self-medicating. Good luck getting people to understand that any intervention has zero chance of working if the patient is spat back out into the situation that caused the problematic behaviour without any changes.
