…I quit reddit specifically because of posts like this. You are literally just playing the switch, nothing special about it. Why is this a thing

On Nintendo switch online? Do they have a thing to stream old games? Why not just run it on hardware

It’s not really streaming, though you need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play them. Each emulated platform has its own downloadable app with all available games.

Basic subscription lets you play NES, SNES, Game Boy (original and color). More expensive NSO+ has N64, megadrive/genesis, GBA.

However after the Wii virtual console, most big third parties have since realized they can sell their old stuff themselves as remakes or collections, so the available library is very lacking in non-Nintendo stuff. Capcom, Namco, Konami, Square Enix are barely there.

However for Nintendo games and a few other good surprises, it’s cool. I mean I get (sort of) free Puyo Puyo Tsu, so, nice.

They decided that they probably weren’t going to get as much money asking people to buy their games a 4th time off of the virtual console so the switch requires a monthly sub to access legacy titles

Its a subscription with dozens of old games. All emulated locally. It’s certainly more convenient than old hardware.

That’s what I meant when I said redditposting in my other commenr here. Do we really need more pictures of a controller in front of a screen? Not to mention the horrorshow of fingernails these kinds of posts tend to have (this post isn’t too bad with that)

Super useless, full of bots, karmawhores, and ran by a shitty, awful power tripping pack of hypocritical mods that ban you for even an ounce of valid criticism

I often play the GB version. It has 4 levels from the og game and then goes on to be one of the best puzzle platformers of all time. It even introduced later series classics like the triple jump, backwards flip, and more. Idk if they have it on the NS Online games, but if they do, it’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t played it yet.

It’s great. GBA Mario Vs Donkey Kong (the one that just got a switch remake) was a straight follow-up to this game, with the same moves and puzzle-platform style.
