Things are about as bad, probably worse, for trans people today as they were for you in the 90s. I think that’s what OP was getting at.

There have been high profile, powerful people giving speeches at political events advocating for the genocide of transgender people. It’s a massive culture war issue. I feel like you’re a bit sheltered if you don’t realise that.

Well, yes, but there are a lot more people who support them. I feel like you can’t have a conversation without failed attempts at making me feel bad as a person.

I’m not trying to make you feel bad, I’m just 50/50 split on whether you’re a concern trolling timewaster or if you’re just ignorant, and I’m trying to figure out which. Leaning towards concern troll.

Fwiw I’m a trans person who grew up in the 80s/90s and I still think the 90s were way WAY worse than present day for trans people.

The 90s were worse for you than the present day is for you. But the present day is worse for people growing up now than the 90s were for you. Imagine being a trans kid in the current sociopolitical climate.

I don’t have to imagine rotflol

My kid and a bunch their friends deal with it, and I and many others are there to help them. And it sucks for them BIG TIME. It’s hard, even with supportive family and friend groups. My kid had two classmates just this year lose their lives to suicide due to LGBTQ hate.

                  The 90s were worse.

I really think you have no idea what you’re saying.
