The United States is one of the best examples of a democratic republic, it is absolutely both a democracy and a republic.

Calling yourself something and actually meeting the generally agreed-on definition are different things.
Electing representatives does not make a republic, you have to actually give those elected representatives the ruling power too.

Britain is a democracy. Which is the US more like, China or Britain?

Thats not what I meant. I mean at what point do our institutions that were designed to prevent this actually take action? Because this shit doesn’t work by fairy dust and dreams. It works because people believe in it and enforce it. If it is so obvious the common folk of the land can see it. Why can’t anyone with authority put a stop to this madness? Especially when the dog whistles stop being whistles for dogs and turn into words for humans.
