Or as they call themselves: Dutch Epic Party Folk Metal. They were announced as a new band on my yearly folk metal festival, and all I could find online were ~5 seconds from a crappy live recording.
But one of their T-Shirts had a really cool design, so I hoped I’d enjoy them ;)
Well, luckily I loved them. They looked like a bunch of dudes in a midlife crisis coming from an aloha (Hawaii shirts, flower necklaces) work party, but then they rocked, the live performance had more death metal than folk ;)
On the final day, I found out that they actually camped right next to us (they already went to the festival every year as guests), and they told me this was only their 3rd performance :D
Anyway, a few days ago they finally released their first track online: “Heathen Hooray”. Production could be improved, but otherwise I’m pretty happy with it.
Yeah I like it quite a bit I like the guy’s voice. Yeah some of the instruments could come through a little bit better but I like the overall feel of it
Yeah, the mixing really sounds like the just-started hobby project they are ;) I hope they’ll find someone to do a better job by the time they have enough stuff for an EP ;)
