I remember discovering Wings restaurant in town after reading another one of these threads on the other place about 10 years ago. Happy to see that it is still going and thriving after visiting again this week.

I’ll recommend Uno Mas cocktail bar at the top of Broughton Street, across from the Omni centre. It’s down a set of stairs in the venue that used to be GHQ without a large sign so it is easy to miss. Amazing cocktails and particularly good pints of Guiness (apparently the trick is to clean the taps twice a week). Staff are nice too.

Wings is amazing! Lived in Edinburgh for a year and we miss it a lot! I’ve had some amazing garlic chops and tapas at El Cartel, but the second time we went (with family to show it off) it wasn’t as good. I think the restaurant owner gets a bit frantic when it’s busy, so try to go outside of rush hour to get better food/service.

“Thai Bowl on the Walk” is on Leith Walk (not so hidden actually) and does very good Thai food. Price is reasonable and portions are plenty, both the main dish and rice.
