Am i crazy? I just don’t see any arguments being made here. I see a claim about some sensationalist sounding story that feels straight out of some western anti-China propaganda about Chinese police supposedly arresting a reading group. Zero materialist analysis. And then refers to a video by… Black Red Guard? A western Maoist? When someone in the comments who says they are actually from the global south and says that China has greatly helped their country and brings up how China has literally lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty that is simply glossed over with claims that China is a rival imperialist power to the US and they just want to ingratiate themselves with global south countries. They go on to compare the rivalry between the US and China to that between the British and German empires…
How do you even respond to such absurd nonsense?
No material analyst? Probably an ultra maoist. I wouldn’t take them seriously.
They call themselves a Marxist-Leninist and they have a good series of videos about Stalin: https://youtube.com/@itscalledleninism
But their takes on China and every other modern AES state are just…infantile, honestly. And i don’t mean to be rude or condescending, perhaps they are very young…i don’t know. It just baffles me…
I mean they mention a BRG video who’s an ultra maoist, not a good sign for them.
Not only does China not have a socialist system (this is honestly inarguable, especially at this point),
It’s inarguable because if you look at the evidence it’s clearly wrong/hj
“For those who would peremptorily dismiss China’s effort at constructing socialism, Deng’s invocation to seek truth from facts has a distinct pertinence.” -Roland Boer
When I read the title I thought it was going to be Fellow Traveler who I had to explain China’s foreign policy to (he apparently got kicked out of PSL for being anti-china). Anyway, he’s much better than this guy.

You can find more by searching for the keywords “China arrests marxist student activists reading group”. China doesn’t let the official mainstream media take liberties on reporting about such incidents, but you can still find posts and comments over social media trying to use these activities to disprove China’s claim of being a socialist country.
