If National or Act lose 1 seat in the specials, they’ll no longer have a majority and will need the support of NZF to govern.

C’mon labour. Act jump ship and make a deal with labour and green and anyone else
Act can fuck right off with their removal of public holidays and building regulations.
Unfortunately I do not have much faith in Labour right now either.
I think it would be a fun (hopefully no disastrous) experiment to see how things go if both major parties were on the opposition and all the minor parties coalesced to take the majority.
Is anyone in favor of a reduction in public holidays?.
I’m not, but it’s also not a huge issue for me either way.
I’d like to see a compromise with the Greens on this, we lose Jan 2, and perhaps Matariki, but get another week of annual leave.
Would happily lose days to gain a week
The people who are paying for your day off ie employers
You mean those that exploit our labour for a measley day off.
Maybe I should lock their boots too ? Sell my first born and be grateful they gave me a job ?
It would be an absolute shitshow, that’s what. Highly entertaining if it happened to anyone but us.
Most likely
I don’t think that’s happening… would be a pretty bad idea anyway
I’m what way ? Would be fucking hilarious that Luxon almost won.
A coalition of Labour + Greens + TPM + Act (or NZF) sounds disastrous.
The left are probably better off sitting this term out. It potentially could be a short one
3 years of hell isn’t short
It’s not necessarily 3 years
Also, “hell” is a bit excessive. You might not like their policies but there’s no reason to think this is going to be some kind of Trump style government, I.e. highly divisive, eroding democracy. Democracy means you don’t always get the government you want, and it’s important to accept that. Otherwise the division does grow
Tell that to those that will be homeless starving on the streets. It is a trump style government. A roll back on rental properties.
Biggest cash expenses is housing. Housing is about to become even more affordable than it already is. Pushing more into homeless and poverty. Not sure if your idea of hell.
Trying living on the streets in dire straits. Think you’ll change your mind pretty fast.
There’s no democracy here or really anywhere else.
When the rich can buy power. Democracy is over
