Hi

Please forgive my noob question. My networking knowledge is about 15 years old…

I am trying to get IPv6 working within a router in a router, and I’m a bit lost.

I have what I think is a typical ISP modem into my home (Actiontec T3200M… my ISP is Telus). I have 10/10 IPv6 test results when connected directly to the ISP’s router. The router’s information I think tells me they’re providing me a /56 (I see “IPv6 Prefix of delegated” supplied). The Telus router tells me that it has an IPv6 address.

Connected to the Telus router is a Unifi Dream Machine. Out of the box, it seems to have IPv6 disabled. I can enable it to be DHCPv6, but I don’t see any interfaces come up with an IPv6 address in the range defined by the Telus router. If I statically set an IP address, I’m I’m not able to ping an IPv6 address, like 2001:4860:4860::8888, from the Unifi host.

So, it seems that the Unifi Dream Machine isn’t getting an IPv6 address, so I can’t really expect any other hosts connected to the Unifi box to get an Ipv6 address.

Are there any other options to get IPv6 addresses distributed to devices to devices connected to the Unifi host? Or does anyone have any suggestions / resources to help me get this working?

Thanks in advance…
