I’m not saying particular genres, we all have our less desired musical genres, I mean music in general.

When I was a child I was very confident to say that I hated music, all kinds, and my cousin used to say that was not possible.

Turns out he was right, and I only hated the teenage music my sister from the 90s used to listen to.

Secretly I enjoyed soundtracks and OSTs from several media, such as animes (digimon openings and battle themes for example) and some TV shows or even videogames.

Then my taste “evolved” and pretty much stayed at rock, heavy metal and alike.

So that little memory lane inspired me to ask about this.

I wouldn’t say I hate music, but my feelings are quite complicated. I have played guitar for 20+ years. I learned a lot of songs before I realized that every song is exactly the fucking same. And I eventually just got bored of it.

It’s not all types of music, though. Mostly just pop music. So I pretty much hate anything that plays on the TV or on the radio. When I was a teenager I was a total asshole about it and treated people who didn’t feel the exact same way as me as inferior. But I have calmed down quite a bit over the years. If other people like that music, that’s great for them. I can even have it on without whining now.

One thing I do love to do is song the “wrong” song – one that is exactly the same but with different words. I think it’s fun to try and figure out which songs sound really good when layered on top of each other. It drives my wife nuts.
