I’m trying to develop my own personal VPN network that only me and a few friends will have access to. Reason is to have full control over the logs instead of relying on a commercial VPN.

ISP can see the IP address of the proxy, do they retain that data in their log? It kills the whole purpose if the ISP retain the Proxy IP address in their connection logs.

Hypothetically an powerful Government 3 Letter adversary is trying to find the original IP of someone through their ISP. But know it is not a commercial proxy IP and only used by very few or one person. Since there isn’t a lot of unique ISP out there would they just be able to mass send a bunch of subpenas to ISPs and ask them if an proxy IP log was used in their system and who was routing through that proxy IP address? Particularly in the UK/ EU.

Considering I’m disposing each proxy IP after a couple days use.

Threat level: High
