I’ve been playing the Witness for the first time, and it’s great. I’ve been doing it as part of a group randomizer though, which makes it so hard lol One day I’ll figure out what all these shapes mean

How is the learning curve on the game? I’ve been seeing some streamers play it over the past few months and it looks interesting.

Learning curve for the base game is fine in my opinion. I finished one vanilla campaign playthrough and jumped into Mods afterwards. I would recommend starting with just some utility mods and one you got the hang of it add complexity via mods like nexerelin.

Chances are high that I’ll probably play the same way as you when I dive in. I usually don’t like to grab utility mods until I have a good sense of how the core systems work without them.

I’ve been wanting to try the game for a while but I’m always hesitant about any EA title. It seems like they’ve got most of the game put in place though as far as I can tell so it might just be time to take the plunge!

I’m planning a big mission to the Jool system in KSP, so I’m working on a reusable heavy lifter, large resource scanning probe, a refinery with small collection ships, an big lander, a spaceplane, a science station, comm satellites, and reusable transfer vehicles.

Struggling at the moment to find something to get into.

Played around 4 hours of Days Gone and it didn’t really grab my attention.

Played THPS 1+2, got to area 51 on the first game within around an hour and just found it boring these days, I got ruined by Skate and it’s far superior control scheme.

Started on Forza Horizon 5, I really enjoyed playing 4 during covid and I am craving this kind of arcade racing but I am just struggling to get into this one. I think it is a combination of the map being boring as fuck and so by extension so are the races and there being so much going on on the map yet seemingly nothing to really do. Also being presented DLC on the map as if it is a race I can go and do really rubbed me up the wrong way a bit.

I have Disgaea 6 to try as well as Wasteland 3 and Disco Elysium but really not feeling an RPG right now. I’d like to try NFS Unbounded but refuse to download a shitty launcher to do so so now I’m lost xD

I have mostly been playing Forza Horizon 4.

I am not a car nut, but fun and relaxing to play while listening to a podcast

    Slay the Princess

What a crazy, unexpected gem. Without spoiling anything, it’s a hand-animated interactive narrative game with strong Stanley Parable influences.

That came across my recommendation queue the other day - despite my dislike for horror, it looks interesting enough that I might check it out!

I don’t think I would classify it as a horror game really. It’s got some gritty subjects that it dives into and there are a few storylines that can be a bit gruesome, but overall it wasn’t really scary. It was more witty and philosophical at its core.

I watched a stream of someone who played through every ending because the game is just captivating and so well done.

I’m not one to usually play the latest games, but a friend recommended Chants of Sennaar and I’ve finished it in a few days between this and last week.

It’s been a very fun experience and I hesitate to say more because it’s that kind of game that is best to go in blind. Just know that it’s about figuring out language in a point and click adventure game which has some breathtaking architecture, scenario and cultures.

I watched SSS stream the game and kinda wish I wouldn’t have watched. Gonna wait a bit so I forget some of the puzzles then check it out. Such a beautiful, and interesting game.

Journey to the savage planet. Been placing through a coop campaign with a friend and it really good. The tounge in check humour is great, awesome parkour dynamics, beautiful environments. First game in a while I’ve wanted to 100%.

I saw someone on Lemmy recommend Backpack Battles yesterday, its pretty simple to pick up but takes a bit of thinking to start to optimize. I played a couple hours and had a lot of fun.

Manic miners. Basically a remake of the LEGO rock raiders game from 1999. The original was a part of my childhood, and the remake is free, not buggy (unlike the original), and has better graphics. Would definitely recommend.

Playing Canis Canem Edit for the first time. To be honest, I had very high expectations and they didn’t really get fulfilled.
