She’ll lie and say that she supports the company, and it’s crooks in places like Jew York who are stealing her constituents’ money. They haven’t argued in good faith since Eisenhower was in office.

I’ve heard Conservatives unironically call it ‘Jew York’ before. Which is just awesome to hear as a Jew, let me tell you. They also often talk about someone ‘Jewing me down’ on a price if they’re selling something.

Am not Jewish but have close friends that are. These types of slurs were very common when I was a kid (80s). You are probably aware this goes way, way back. Recently read Oliver Twist and being Jewish is shorthand for “morally bankrupt”.

Oh yeah, Fagin is fucking awful. And that book is still taught in public schools. At least N— Jim in Tom Sawyer Huckleberry Finn is a hero and a good friend.

There are a few other characters for who “being Jewish” is a defining trait in that book. All of them are part of the criminal underworld in some way. Yeah, super gross. To see all the “will not replace us” crap resurfacing in a big way over the last decade or so has been brutal to watch. Can’t stand humans, sometimes.

I first read ‘Jew York’ in Vonnegut’s ‘Mother Night’ [my personal favorite] So yes, option three.
