To me it feels more like an orchestrated march toward fascism.

I think the monied interests and the powers they have are directly threatened by democracy and the younger generations being far more progressive then they can control through propaganda alone. They would wrather remove any semblance of democracy than loose their power.

The slow but steady march is by design, frogs in an ever warming pot till it’s to late.
