Anyone else watch the new Ghibli movie and want the knife?

Studio Ghibli’s new movie, The Boy and the Heron, prominently places quite a few traditional Japanese knives, including kitchen knives, a sword, and the boy’s pocket knife, a Higonokami. They’re a carbon steel friction folder. I just thought it was a vibe seeing it in the movie.

    @edc btw, I realize this post might have a little advertising smell. but yeah obviously to be clear that’s not the case. I just know it’s a knife a lot of people appreciate, and would also be annoyed if people bought a Japanese knife, made by skilled craftspeople to this day, that was made in an automated factory in China claiming to sell the real thing.
