    Soooo… “Snow” in Australia’s “June”?

That’s like any lowland part of CONUS getting hail without the required anvilhead thunderstorm/tornado.

Wow. The chaotic weather of climate change is really beginning to bite decades ahead of schedule.

Nobody mentioned climate change, you sarcastic fuck.

There are plenty of storms in that region during that time of the year. That’s just a 15 second mention on the nightly news. A few trees blown over, someone’s trampoline now two miles away, etc etc.

This story is about severe storms and two-inch hailstones causing widespread damage, leaving enough ice on the ground to make it look like a snowfall. When typical daily maximums in December are 100+, that’s worthy of a few column inches.

(I’ve helpfully converted the relevant values to US-centric figures to help your US-centric mind get a grasp on it)

Lots of storms and extreme weather events have been blamed on Climate Change recently and it’s tempting to believe that this is just a trend to try and prove Climate Change. And look, that’s not an illogical position for someone who doesn’t understand much science. Climate Change has been in action much longer than you’ve been alive, it’s just now that we’re talking about it because of how much we now know and how big the threat is.
