Not sure if that renders the same for everyone, but I’m very tired of seeing the big emoji letter usernames. Is there an option to convert these usernames to ASCII or otherwise not render them? If not, could this be something that could be implemented? I don’t want to resort to blocking everyone, but I may if there’s no other choice. It’s very visually annoying and distracting.

I’m not too opposed to the fancy font usernames, but the emoji usernames are kind of an eyesore. I’d like a setting for this at least.

Unicode to text conversion shouldn’t be too difficult through Unicode normalisation. I think this API exposes that feature to Android apps already.

And even them, it would be easy to translate these regional letters emoji unicode values to their text equivalent.

It’s just a bit visually disruptive is all. That’s why I’d prefer it to be a setting rather than for it to be disabled entirely, let the people who really object to it make their own decision without taking away other people’s freedom to put whatever they want into their usernames.
