I’ve been a gamer for a long time and did I miss a memo or something? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any credible proof that Tencent has done anything more nefarious or more often than American or Japanese software publishers. So I’m not sure how people are zealot level convinced.

    They’re not worried about being spied on, they’re worried that they’re handing their data to “the evil redfacist Chinese government” (but don’t care that the NSA has seen their dick pics)

      Yeah this makes a lot of sense. The thing that gets me though is American corporations will happily sell their users’ data to anyone including China/Russia/etc. but I never see gamers complaining about that. It’s always some over complicated evil spy plot. “They must be stealing the data!”
