“Them” being both sides, because so far it’s accusations, speculation and conjecture. Nothing substantiated. Hence I think this should be investigated properly… The US is a police state… so use all that surveillance ffs.
I would not be surprised by any of the possible outcomes, actual operatives, stupid prank, false flag… this timeline is stupid… Neither operatives nor false flag have so little to gain and so much to lose from something like this… so if I had to bet a dollar… it would be on “we thought it would be funny”.

Most hippies do have an eye watering smell, but patchouli fades with distance from the source.
