As a leftist, I restrict access for my child until I he is mature enough to handle it and I can introduce him to it slowly. It doesn’t have anything to do with trying to keep him away from information. Anything he wants to know, we’ll look it up together or hit up a library. I can see clearly how unrestricted social media use is wrecking young people’s mental health and putting everybody into their own little bubble and dividing people. He doesn’t need that at this point in his life. He needs to play and be a kid for a little while longer.

I think social media use by someone way too young for it can be as damaging as showing young children hardcore porn. It warps your brain.
