On a train. There is an over abundance of short shiny dresses and facial glitter. Must be a Spice Girl around somewhere.

I have decided to try cutting out caffeine for a while. I’ve been reducing my intake for a couple of weeks, with the intention that after today I will not have any more. The temptation to have another coffee is very real.

I’m out adventuring and listening to my audiobook. Embrace the majesty of the mighty vanilla slice. Also, this is the very first photo I’ve taken with this new phone (loaned from Microsoft).

Back from the other side of the city. As soon as I was on Chapel St waiting for tram, some middle aged lady asked me from a ciggie. Every time I’m there, which isn’t often, I get asked for a smoke without fail.

Every street and suburb in Melbourne has a culture; I love this city.

So many Taylor Swift fans, the tram was packed as. Wtf. A group of them looked at me and laughed? I’m not in HS anymore, their giggles mean nothing lol

    TW blood

Bloody got a blood nose on the bus. Nobody around. I apparently forgot to add tissues and wipes to my gigantic backpack of pretty much everything else you could want or need. Managed to get it under control with a head tilt though, but my face and hands didn’t fare to well without tissues. Ended up having to clean my hands and face with a letter I forgot to take out of my bag last week. Absolutely looked like a crackhead in the process.

Finally got off at a train station and started trying to properly clean it and apparently bumped my nose a bit too much so the whole thing started again. No fucking toilet paper. Sink that’s permanently stuck on really hot for some reason. I heard a line forming and ended up hobbling down to the customer service desk holding my nose and asked the PSOs for some tissues, they didn’t have any but said there was a better toilet down the end of that platform which did have toilet paper. Managed to get it under control but what a wild adventure. Also stole some toilet paper should my nose break on the way back

Some sad news. A neighbour found the corpse of Mr Magpie. He and Mrs Magpie lived in the big gum tree in the roundabout at the end of the street and raised several families there. Presumably the hot windy day last week knocked him off his perch.
However, in slightly more cheerful news, Mrs Magpie fronted up for feeding time at another neighbour’s place this morning, bringing another Mrs Magpie with her. Very very Thornbury.

Hectic week is just over. I’m drop dead tired, will miss having people to check in with. But also glad to be back in my own space and participating in things from a distance rather than being expected to compete with the popular and the pretty. Also I’d be glad not to go into the cbd for a good month or so. I’m so over it

    Rightio.
Shopping is done. House is clean from top to bottom. Washing is done. Cat is brushed and fed.

Time for some reading in bed, and Mass Effect 3 later on.

I forget how great I feel when the house is spotless. Feels so peaceful.

@Reonn @CEOofmyhouse56 crap, what area are you in? I checked the outages list and it was still huge yesterday. I’m in a rural area that gets regular outages, but they are usually resolved within about 12 hours. But the amount of trees down, damaged or basically exploded on the drive out from the city today was… exceptional. I’m not surprised it’s taking them quite a while to rectify all the issues.

You are right, it IS a long time. Things are more complicated up in the hills. Too many trees.

Sounds awful. Hang in there, they are working on it. The damage was so extensive and there’s only so many repair crews. Are you able to stay with someone overnight to get a break from it?

Ended up making the trip in with my kids to listen from the park. Was worth it (kids thought it was awesome) - I’d say probably 15k people outside…

And this guy - just grooving from the back

Mildly peeved that the bus driver blew right past the stop I was at, ignoring everyone who was waiting there. Had to wait half an hour for the next one.

But got some fudge, and found out that the brand I usually get shut up shop some months ago.

It’s been one of those ripple days, where everything seems to be going up and down all at once.

Also anyone know any good place to look into getting a second hand bike (and a good place to ride in)? My current one is a bit knackered, and wondering whether it was worthwhile fixing it, or just replacing it completely.

I’m familiar with the bike shed at Ceres, but that’s about it.

Busses are the vehicles of chaos, I love and hate them. The worst was the one from Glen Waverley to FTG/Rowville I used to take; it would go through Wheelers Hill along FTG Road down that huge fkn hill like a goddamn speed demon. It was like a fkn roller coaster, the bus driver would blow past the stop halfway down the hille everytime because they were going so fast.

I think about it and my heart starts beating real hard haha
