If gender is socially determined then why the need for transgender, why not just being who you are without labels.

Because the meaningful difference is socially created. Do trans people who perpetuate social stereotypes perpetuate those gender roles. Serious question. If female is a genuine gender role that i do not relate to then what am i?

and how much bargaining power do you think that the trans community collectively has in society?

and before you answer, i don’t mean “on twitter”. e.g., dave chappelle has been cancelled on twitter, but still gets his own netflix specials and is seemingly friends with the richest person on the planet. jk rowling is still a billionaire that lives in a literal castle.

I see it within a very limited sphere. It is not a problem . I am more just curious why the need to choose a gender at all. Ut seems like everthing i was taught is wrong. Gender is real and we are all defined by it, it’s so strong that it overcomes genetics .

Why are you blaming trans people for “society” perpetuating gender roles, instead of…blaming society. Do you think society perpetuates gender roles because trans women sometimes wear makeup?

Why are trans people perpetuatibg gender roles instead of being manly nwomen or womanly men? I genuinely dont get the need to define your sex so definitively.

They are not defining sex. They are defining gender. You didn’t answer the question, and you are conflating sex with gender. Your understanding of the issue is clearly lacking - before you form such strong and wrong opinions, and much less tell people those opinions, I’d go educate myself.

Sex and gender are not the same. If you’re gonna be mad at anyone for perpetuating gender norms, be mad at someone other than trans people - they are quite literally DEFYING gender norms.

What is sex and what is gender? Are trans people changing their sex or their gender? Or both?

These are knowable answers. Before you start accusing trans people of all that ails you, you should do some research.

Sex is the genotype, gender is a social construct. Different cultures have different gender identities, but all humans have the same possibilities for sex (and there are more than two, since not all humans are XX or XY).

Trans people do not ail me, or anyone else. I have no problem with trans people and want them to have all the free healthcare they need. I don’t understand why the need for sexual change if gender is socially constructed and can be created for yourself. You are saying that there are multiple sexes and gender is made up, so what is trans?

Trans people are people whose gender is different than their sex assigned at birth. For most people sex and gender are aligned. For trans people they are not.

Ok, the why is called trans gender and not trans sex. Gender is fluid so there’s no need for a transition, they are changing sex, no?
