You may have noticed the rising spam wave lately. Most of these are due to Mastodon. Because of this, I’m considering temporarily blocking Mastodon and (probably) some others.
What I want to ask is; do you use any software other than Lemmy and Kbin on our instance? If we’re sure there is no one, I’ll block.
Please note that this will only affect our (lemy.lol) instance. Users from other instances shouldn’t worry.
Even though the interaction rate from Mastodon to Lemmy is very low, I was thinking of solving this problem by filtering the first 100 instances per software.
I haven’t blocked anything yet though. I check spam waves regularly. I can do this as a last resort.
