Republicans fought tooth and nail to oppose gay marriage and used all sorts of awful dog whistles around the gay community - there’s still a large contingent of Republicans that are fighting against gay marriage and, of course, they openly demonize another LGBT+ group every fucking day.
I know gay Republicans exist but it’s fucking baffling.
Like the anti vaccine movement, many have forgotten the horrors of the past and feel like they can just discard the things that got us to where we are.
