I watched the replay earlier and George didn’t approach any faster than normal onto the back of Alonso. He bottled it just like Singapore (which commentators were quick to call out) and is now crying foul, just like when he crashed into Bottas at Imola.
Maybe George isnt used to having a car that can keep up to the rear of other drivers after his time at Williams? Maybe he’s trying to emulate Max’s “if you don’t hand me the position I’ll ruin both our races”.
Whatever the cause, his attitude stank of entitlement ever since he was being served up the Mercedes seat on a plate. Mercedes should keep a close eye on the guy they’re hoping to be their long term WDC contender if he’s going to throw it in a wall every time he has to follow someone for more than a few laps.
