Doesn’t look bad; on paper nothing really stands out as a negative.

Do you have a particular budget? Is a field watch the particular style you’re after?

For a smaller wrist I was surprised by this Seiko here as it smaller despite being a diver (it’s also more expensive).

If the Vaer is the end result of a search process for what you like, you may as well go for it.

Thanks. Looking for simplicity, perhaps not minimalist. Field watches tend to be my aesthetic. My wrist is 6.5”, so something smaller is probably appropriate. Budget is probably <= $300, but I’m a bit flexible there. I tend not to like tachymeters and such embellishments. The Seiko won’t work for me. This Citizen is the other watch I’m considering.

Ok. Between the two the Vaer seems more robust, comes with a nicer strap and is more readily available (the Citizen BM8186-15E appears to be out of stock in a few places).

I’m into field watches and Fliegers and I love the look of this. Reminds me of my Seiko 5 SNK auto. I have freakishly small wrists so 40mm is a bit too big whereas the mid-30s Seiko is just right. I’m not familiar with this brand, would be interested in hearing what kind of rep it’s got given the price-point.
