I’m confused. What would someone at school be able to verify that a parent couldn’t? Are they checking genitalia or something. The rights obsession with people’s private parts is getting real weird.
Yeah this is definitely a weird area. I can only assume this is in a situation where the kid has confided in a counselor that they are trans.

Are you advocating for kidnapping children from their parents because you think that they are abusive for not letting their children fall victim to indoctrination and unscientific “care”?
In other words, are you advocating for potentially deadly force against fathers and mothers who don’t want their children to be in this pipeline of depression and suicide? Because that’s what legally kidnapping children from their parents entails if the parents refuse to have their children be taken.
I don’t understand this at all. Maybe I’m out of touch but…how wouldn’t a parent know their kid is trans?
How would a school ever be in a position to “out” a child in that sense?
Some children can’t or don’t trust their parents to tell them.
Some parents are just bigots. Some are brainwashed by religion. Some are just afraid and/or angry about anything they don’t understand. If a kid isn’t telling their parents, there is probably a VERY good reason. Kids get beaten. Kids get kicked out of their homes. Kids get sent to conversion camps. Parents can be just as terrible as anyone else.
I understand that but I guess I don’t understand being “trans” then. Is Susan going by “Steve” just at school? Are they changing clothes before first period and before they go home?
Honestly at some point that probably should come up in a parent teacher conference or something, but it’s a dumb thing to legislate and require.
This whole thing is performative and any legislature spending time on this vs actual meaningful work should be ashamed of themselves. I’m sure the people of Tennessee have bigger fish to fry than trying to force teachers to narc out kids.
And shame on any parent who has such a toxic relationship with their kid that they want the government to require teachers of all people to tattle on their kids.
It may be that the child is asking their friends to use a different name and pronouns at school
And the reason it’s generally advised not to bring into a parent teacher conference is that some of these children are keeping it from their parents due to reasonable fear of abuse.

The idea that a school would not share something this important with the child’s parents or would even be hostile to the idea is evidence that public institutions are anti-parent and anti-family.
There are a lot of parents that are not supportive of their children. Especially if they fall on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. This puts kids at risk. This will harm children.
Having the educational system larp as a concerned parent will harm children. Parents are ultimately responsible for the child not the school. Sorry.
The problem has been that many schools around the US have been running queer theory indoctrination programs in order to confuse children about their sex. Then they have “helped” a subset of said confused children access irreversible and unscientific gender affirming “care” such as hormone therapy without the parents’ consent or knowledge.
It’s really horrific how many lives these people are destroying, and they are getting away with it.
