Unpopular opinion: the new advanced consoles reduce build diversity, not add to it. Needing to use up 4 to 7 slots for a particular type of console leaves precious few slots for the best-of-the-best-of-the-best, S-tier consoles. The “pretty good” to “filler” gear that comprises 99.999% of all STO items is now even less desirable.
