Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine Staying home to watch the rain And you are young and life is long And there is time to kill today

And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun

        Breathe Time

I’m gonna become a gamer tomorrow. I’ve got the Nintendo Switch juiced up. I found a game called Warshmellows. It’s a shooty game but fun with cute and violent characters. I’m gonna see if there’s a cricket game too. Just waiting for the “technicians” to hook me up so I can practice today.

I’ve never played the Switch before. Should be fun.

If it’s the little joycon I can understand.

Holding the unit itself on portable mode gave me hand cramps so I had to invested in a cradle/grip for the unit.

Best investment I ever made and so comfortable in portable mode.

I got the full story about that guy I’ve mentioned the other day.

Everything I’ve told him in confidence has been spread around. People I haven’t met, know about my substance issues from the past.

I am so fucking angry right now. But, it will pass.

    He’s dead to me.

I was thinking about what you wrote, how he was doing things to teach people a lesson.

That’s just crazy, what would be the point?

Is this the bloke who use you as an emotional crutch whilst he fucks away his life?

Maaaaan how pathetic do you have to be that someone respectfully tells you that they need space so you proceed to dump on them to make yourself feel better? Dudes done you a favor bro, hes made a very clear statement: “I’m a piece of shit and your time spent being my friend is wasted”.

Also its 2024, if other folks dunk on you for overcoming a substance abuse issue that’s just more trash taking itself out.

Is this the one who’s been self destructing?

I’m sorry gibsy. I’m not sure this is the case, although it probably does feel like it but I’m sure you won’t be judged about your past as much as it feels like you might. Those people don’t even know you, they’re probably not likely to pass too much judgement

Try not to let it affect your trust too much (which I realise is easier said than done). There’s still good people out there, and speaking from experience, isolating yourself won’t help

That’s the one. Yeah the first thing in my mind is “fuck this, never trusting anyone again”, but ultimately that’s the wrong option. I can’t let a shitty experience stop me from an important part of relationships with people. I’ll just have to be much, much more observant of people before I discuss certain topics.

And totally agree about the self isolating. I do that too and it never works out well in the long run.

Ugh only got 4 hours of sleep from stress, did not pick up car last night due to poor communication from them around payment methods. Got in a really foul mood and threw aside my people-pleasing tendencies to let the seller know how disappointed I was that they wasted so much of my time after already having spent so much time on this and giving them a frankly better price than they deserve. Fuck it, I knew it made them uncomfortable and I dug in because I’m tired of always being the one copping it.

Thankfully the husband at least gave me a ride all the way home and I found a friend who’s kind enough to drive me back down tonight. I cannot wait for this saga to be over!!!

It’s too far gone now as I had paid a fair bit for a pre purchase inspection and don’t have the time and energy to follow up with other sellers who haven’t got their rwc and whatnot organised yet. My brain can’t handle any more stress 😭

At least I can finally confirm I’m starting my second job next Monday. Things have been alarmingly tight after losing 5 days worth of pay thanks to my current employer dragging their heels on authorising additional work 😒

I hope whoever you’re buying from gets their shit sorted so you don’t have to wait any longer.

It’ll ok, it’ll be done and done soon enough.

Damn. How did you end up losing 5 days of work? Was it days you were already working before the change?

Well at this point it’s really the bank that needs to get their shit sorted as for some reason 2x large payments yesterday went through fine but the balance payment today has been held up for more than 12 hours and my bank can’t suggest any reason why except that… it happens 🤷‍♀️ and might take up to 2 business days to transfer for no reason at all??? I’m so over payment systems here!! Literally sitting around refreshing my bank app to see if the payment has gone through and hoping I can still make it in time to pick it up today but that window is narrowing. Which means another day of carshare and trouble and ugh.

As for losing 5 days of work - I should say 5 days of income, I was meant to start last Thursday, but as I only got the go ahead today, new workplace has asked me to start Monday instead (Thu being a PH and not many around Fri). So thats a real bummer. I just have to suck it up and move on and make the most of what I can control

Only thing I can think of is fraud protection maybe or an odd processing quirk.

Sometimes I do wonder if they do it for shits and giggles, the one time or moments you need for transfers to happen it gets held up.

Soon as something not so legit pops up oh it’s free reign for them to dine out.

Fingers crossed that the payments you’re waiting on get processed sooner rather than later.

Oh that’s a bugger for that to happen. I’d be frustrated at that as well.

Welp I’ve booked weekend accommodations because I refuse to sit in my apartment for my birthday. I’ll hit the road on Thursday and make for the border. Each of the 3 nights away will be a different town along the border (nowhere new… I think I’ve been to all of the border towns now anyway) before I come back to Melbourne on Sunday for dinner with the family to cap off the long weekend.

Looking forward to hitting the road, a few nice dinners and chillaxing.

Sitting in a city office, after having spent 2 hours getting here. Wearing a with mask, listening to all the coughing around me. Doing work that I could do just fine at home. Wearing headphones with music on to block out the noise from all the other people on teams meetings, so no “culture and collaboration” is happening. How has the world come to this absolute bullshit of “return to office, Covid is over, back to having no life”?

Well I will be. The nice pest control ossifer that I rang up for this morning turned up almost to the minute. Will be removing 2 wasp nests. If wasps still present after a week, they come back and do it again. Could get used to this sort of service.

This is a story which makes me happy! I’m still peeved at my kids school because there was a bee hive/nest thing in a tree and they brought in exterminators who fumigated with toxic chemicals and killed all the bees. The kids said when they went out to play there were all these bees dying and convulsing on the ground 🥺 I like how your story goes better: bees saved and taken to where they’re useful, and wasps sent to hell in a haycart 👍

All this fuss about a baby at comedy show. In order to be effective some performances demand that noise in the audience is controlled. Would you take a baby to a classical musical performance or an opera?

And all these false equivalence to restaurants and cafes. It’s really not the same. People go to those places specifically to converse and make noise so it’s not a problem there (or shouldn’t be).

She deliberately went into the performance knowing it might be an issue, and then is shocked pikachu when she got booted.

Ironically, Ms Faranda was politely asked by hosts of The Project to hand her baby to her partner last night after the child’s crying disrupted the interview.

      HA!!
Yeah, I took the kids out all the time when they were babies. Shops, markets, cafes etc. I never took them to a cinema or a show, because that would be inconsiderate.

I’m all about parental rights, and absolutely all about parental facilities catering to dads. But my rights end at the point where they impinge on yours.

I took little miss seagoon to see bambi when she was five, matinee of course, at valhalla

I also took her to see Cats when she was about 7

here’s the thing, by considering the needs of the child the child will be content and happy and easy , any place where where the child is going to miserable you don’t take them and that also works out for the other people there

I feel so bad for that baby in the news

Pisses me off to no end.

Also I had to look up the interview news about the baby and The Project.

Sky news and News.com.au have the headlines of the “host mocked for interview”

Most other news outlet are neutral with their headlines but the vitriol of sky news and News.com.au is disgusting.

@Seagoon_ @CEOofmyhouse56 And more often than not, the answer is lame.

“You’ll never believe what this '90s heartthrob looks like now!”

It looks like him, but 30 years older.

And I would believe it, because he was famous 30 years ago.

“You’ll never believe what the kids of this celebrity are doing now!”

        Going to uni.

Because they’re in their early 20s.
