Hello - I’m relatively new to this ghost town node :). I created !finance@lemmy.globe.pub a few months ago since there a place to discuss foreign exchange was lacking in the whole threadiverse.

Anyway, I’m trying to create another new community with these parameters:

• name: navigation_technology
• display name: Navigation technology, SatNav, OSM, …
• sidebar Everything about hardware and software used for navigation.

But when clicking the “create” button, it just spins for a moment and goes back to a create button. No error message, but will not move forward.

Has community creation been disabled? I noticed a strange new group called “G’s Chicken and Waffles” which actually just has posts about the Ruby programming language. So I wonder if that possible spam/abuse might have led to restrictions on creating communities.
