Rang up my mechanic place and they said they’d do the parking light on the opposite side for 20 so that’s 50 all up excluding any extra time due to difficulties.

At this stage I’m hoping to sort it out in a week’s time, hope I’m able to hold out till then.

That sounds pretty reasonable. I paid just over $42 to buy 2 headlight globes at Supercheap (and that was only special) recently.

Oh that’s fairly lucky, I wish I could have replaced them myself but it seems the price my mechanic was offering isn’t too bad in the end, cheaper than if I went with Supercheap Auto and did it through their Fitting service.

My aunt and uncle have been clearing out some old alcohol they weren’t gonna drink.

There’s buttscotch schnapps, vodka, two bottles of Jaegermeister (one with shit glasses), and some gin (which I have turned into a gin and tonic with cucumber).

Oh, and Kahlua, Sambuca, and Galliano. And my other aunt got me a lovely exxy bottle of wine with glasses as well.

I don’t think I’ll need to buy alcohol for a long while.

I’m enjoying hearing people complain about the cold around the office. It’s presently 18.5° and sunny in Perth. Yes, it was a bit chilly this morning, but nothing like what Melbourne goes through.

I guess it always boils down to what people are accustomed to.

Our Brisbane office gang always complain its too hot in the building, whilst the Melbourne crew roll around with puffer jackets still on in the office. Would love to know WTF building and facilities actually DO.

Oh, inside our building is fairly steady. Temprature is set to 23°. I purchased a little digital thermometer that I have at my desk. It was only 21° on the thing first thing this morning before the building filled. But, it’s back to 22.9° right now.

Would love to know WTF building and facilities actually DO.

This will boil down to money. It is loads less work for them to arrange proper repairs and improvements to building facilities, as that really reduces the number of maintenance requests they get. So, they would want to make sure everything is repaired and serviced etc. But the building owners put limitations on that - can only spend $x on improvements and $y on temperature control etc. Then, they stand between the tenants/employees and the owners to shield the latter group from complaints.

Had the first couples counseling the other day. It was interesting. Forced to be diplomatic for lack of a better word we were articulating points that sort of surprised each other I think. The therapist also had me figured out in no time at all “Shit childhood, yeah?” “yep” “Parents didnt love each other?” “Nup”. Guess I’m not the first she’s seen.

Got up at 6 am fully refreshed. Logged into work stupid early and finished all my stuff by about 9 am.

Still logged in but playing video games on my PC.

I think this is a good Friday

I tried Elden Ring when it came out and could not get into it at all. Gameplay was fine, but the lack of a story (a cohesive one that was explicit) ruined it for me.

I’m playing Dragon Age Inquisition. It was free on Epic games a while back and it’s pretty fun.

      What are you playing?

I’ve been playing the demo on steam of Tactical Breach Wizards. A turn based strategy game from the guy who did Heat Signature, where you play a few magical wizards uncovering a conspiracy, with assault wands. It’s to be released in August. I am actually a little hyped lol

Fuck I love that game. Played DA: Origins on the 360, and while 2 is meh, Inquisition is my favourite.

Shouldn’t have romanced Solas. The Bull is where it’s at tbh. He’s got the horns to grab onto haha.

The world building is sick, characters are well written, and gameplay is impactful. Love it, glad you’re enjoying it! It gets hate online, but I think it’s great haha

New mouse day. Logitech G502 Hero. Seems okay, hope it lasts longer than the Razer’s I’ve been using the last few years. I’m heavy handed, I feel I’m heavy everything, I wear stuff out.

Very nice, hope it’s a good mouse, I’ve got a G600 myself and love it and it’s lasted ages for me.

I’ve got the G700 which only has 3 buttons on the side (but is otherwise much the same) and it’s pretty good, but I think I would struggle with more buttons. I have a game pad I can use for the other hand which works well in combination with the mouse for PC games, but I usually have to write myself out customised instructions for each game so I can figure out what I’m doing.

I’ve got some Alienware something or another and it has 3 buttons on the side and 1 below the scroll wheel for changing DPI (I think) and I don’t use any of them. The DPI thing changes the mouse speed, but got jammed and started doing it randomly which pissed me off so I turned it off. 1 of the side buttons goes forward in chrome and the other goes back, but I have no clue what the other does

Yep, that’s the one, some are hard to reach but with how many there that I could reach, they were pretty handy for some games.

My thumb is brutal on the side of mice. I mostly play action games so I reckon I engage some kind of unconscious power grip when the red mist takes over. My last two mice I’ve worn in the side, and a bit busted middle click a bit.

Time for some video games and guitar.

Gym session this evening and had some young dude call me ‘sir’.

I was puzzled until my son informed me that the young bloke was probably scared of me.

Perhaps I should learn to smile more.

Happy Friday cobbas. I got up on time this morning and decided to rug up and WALK to work at 7:45am - and feeling really proud of myself! It’s only 2kms and almost a straight line basically. Unsurprisingly, I feel a whole lot better than I would’ve today given the amount of work that’s turned up on my plate. I will definitely be doing it again, great way to roll some exercise into the day, like I used to before I had a licence and car.

Back home and had the energy to put together a kung pao chicken with mock meat. Still got a fair bit of pep in my step which is unusal. Putting together my to do list and this weekend will involve a whole lot of Adult Responsibilities. I was gonna catch up with a friend to break it up but they’ve got the 'vid so I wonder what else I could do instead (that doesnt involve a screen) so I don’t feel like the weekend is all work and no fun.
