Retreating to bed cause it’s fucking freezing. Fortunately got the electric blanket on in preparation so beds nice and warm at least. Reckon I’ll leave the electric towel rail on tonight too just so don’t freeze my junk off when I get up at 6am.

3 degrees here. Cold air was very sharp taking the rubbish out. I think it’s gonna get colder than the predicted low overnight. Be prepared for a very frost morning.

I’ve accepted that my curry leaf plants and chillies are gonna look pretty shit tomorrow and not get any better until late September at least. I’m just thoroughly enjoying my warm living room, but better roll out of it and into bed soon before the bedroom oil heater goes off its timer.

To protect from frost, if they are in the ground you can cover with something like tarp or sheet, if in pots bring inside or a sheltered location like garage. Good luck little plants! It’s gonna be a tough week for the frost sensitive ones.

They’re in pots, but trapped in an inconvenient part of my narrow balcony where bringing them in would mean moving half my plants around (and tbh the curry leaf plants are big fellas that I don’t really have space for indoors any more, I used to bring them in in past years).

If I was organised enough I’d have acquired a bit of geotextile or something to drape over the plants but I’m just going to hope they’re protected enough in their awkward corner with the brick wall and partial shelter. 🤞 I doubt anything will die, except maybe this chilli plant that’s been hanging in there for over 3 years.

Doesn’t have to be geotextile - an old towel or a sheet folded double will do perfectly well to protect them. Sheets are lighter and don’t squash the plants as much as towels.

Hope all your plants will be ok.

I’m the furthest thing away from being a green thumb so I have no idea what’ll happen to your plants if they’re outside and it gets that cold.

temp predictions have been revised down ☃️

I don’t like having the heater on at night as it’s a bit noisy but I think I might have to.

I am trying to space out my watching of the Bear season 3 but it’s so hard. You know the show is good when it’s a flashback episode, and you know it turns out ok, but you are still on the edge of your seat the whole time.

I’m partway through s3 e9 and I definitely found this season a lot more spaced out and chill than the past two seasons. It seems to be the reason it’s not so popular either, but I like it. More slow-burn character exposés and a great showcase of the acting talent, after the frenetic pace of the last two seasons. I’ve read that they filmed s4 at the same time so it tracks that they’re taking longer with plot developments this time around.

I’m not that far yet. Just finished the Tina episode. I just love the characters and for such relatively short episodes they really pack a lot of depth in. I am enjoying the pace too

Even with the slower pace there’s so much going on in each episode. It’s sort of a beautiful fleshed out epilogue to s2. I loved the Tina episode that way. Also, that long montage of all the service workers in s3e2, that made me feel so connected and proud to be part of a society for a moment

Well…it’s certainly still stressful but I have enjoyed it the whole way through. S2 had a couple of very intense episodes but S3 is more chill (tho I am waiting for something terrible around the corner).

Such beautiful weather out today! I wish I wasn’t stuck in an office for most of it. Tonight is gonna be froooosty, I’m STOKED that I can roll outta bed late tomorrow. Have a meeting on campus at 2, plan is to try and finish all my work off by noon and quietly clock off after that. Would love to have a stroll round campus after if tomorrow’s as beautifully sunny as today.

Done the last of the repotting and prepared 3 big pots for jalapeno seedlings. Sewed up the outdoor toy penguin and put it out. Done daiso shopping, bought gloves, no one had fingerless gloves so imma just cut the fingers off myself. Got all the sewing haberdashery I need to do some french embroidery on my jumper. All the tapestry fabric for recovering the chairs is cut out and ready. Pizza is being done. Cats are brushed and fed.

I refuse to listen to the news, the whining from the dems is driving me crazy. Just fricking use power and do something.

So, Planet Ark are trying to register an account to join aussie.zone. I would normally have rejected their application, as they are giving the vibe of ‘we want to spam’. So, I reached out to them on their contact form. I thought it possible they had a google analytics alert and noticed us discussing their products recently.

But, that was longer ago than I realised: It feels like we talked about that a few weeks ago. So now I’m back to thinking they want to spam. Gah!

I want answers, but I don’t want ads. I suppose I’ll wait to see if/how they respond to my website query.

man I cant see a good reason why brands need to be on a social media platform of this size, that’s just my 2 cents.

Businesses routinely have alerts on their brands with Google. It’s quite possible they got an email from Google that we were talking about their products. That part actually makes sense to me.

If they had applied for an account within a week or so of that discussion, and said in their application they were joining the site in response to it - I’d have thought it completely reasonable.

Why am I so tired today??

You ever wonder if you’re just tired a lot or if you’re actually Stage 3 something or other and just haven’t gone to the doctor? I think I might have hypochondria.

Well, 11.5 degrees looks to be as warm as I’m getting today. I’m off to have a stroll around the neighbourhood with Mr Woof.
