I am all for having a multi-person collective leadership instead of a single celebrity dominated party. I am really tired of major revolutionary leaders becoming co-opted, and I hope in the near future the American communist parties can overcome this flaw.

Do you have any ideas of what sort of change in strategy would be necessary within the current communist American parties? In my pre-branch, we have disrupted anti-LGBT bills from being passed (for example). We have educated many people and have grown a lot in our area within a small timeframe. We also have to be viligant and careful with which new members we recruit given the history of the feds infiltrating communist parties in America.

I’ve heard local pre-branches have some sketchy history, but mine has been kicking ass and avoiding those mistakes. I do have some disagreements in our party and believe we need to work on our organization, but with all of the recent events and the work we have been doing, I am willing to forgive our shortcomings.

No (except for the National Fund Drive, but it’s not necessarily a membership fee, and if you are unemployed and can’t afford it, that is okay), when you become a member of PSL, there are monthly dues, but it’s according to what you are able to afford. Since the beginning of 2023, Sami had worked in Israel at a slaughterhouse near the boundary with Gaza.

Sami lives in Gaza and, for the past 20 years, had supported his six children by working at my local neighborhood market. But when it came time for two of his sons to get married, he needed a bigger income.

On 7 October, he hid in a basement in one of the kibbutzim. When Israeli troops found him, they detained him in a prison along with thousands of other Palestinian workers.

They were blindfolded and stripped naked. They were forced to listen to others screaming and being tortured.

When Israeli forces interrogated Sami, they showed him a picture of his house and said that it was marked as a bombing target. They threatened to kill his wife and kids.

They interrogated him about everyone in his neighborhood and blamed him for the 7 October attacks.

After the interrogation, they kicked Sami and the other prisoners and beat them with metal rods.

They peed on the Palestinian prisoners then put them in freezing cold rooms, naked. The soldiers then soaked the mattress with water and forced Sami to sleep on it.

He slept on the same mattress with two other prisoners.

In one instance, the soldiers beat Sami until he blacked out. Sami witnessed several Palestinians die due to the beatings and torture.

The soldiers put the men in black bags, only to be taken God knows where.

After 30 days, Sami was released. But the Israeli army ensured that this release would be humiliating and inhumane, and Sami was dressed in an Israeli flag.

Sami is in his late fifties and had to have a cardiac catheterization due to high blood pressure. He is one of the kindest people I know.

I’m going back to online college next year to do electrical engineering as that has been my passion for a long time and I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to do so (thanks mom <3). I have wanted to do some content creation for a while, but I am super busy working full time and doing a lot of party work. I would love to make a commie techie channel/website/etc., but it won’t probably be sufficient for an income for a long while, if it ever even reaches that point. I would honestly prefer to do it as a hobby and not have the fun sucked out of it by turning it into a job.

I currently have to build my computers that I have bought most of the parts for; research, buy, and install the rest of the parts; and install Gentoo Linux on each with a configuration I have been difficulty getting to boot correctly for months on a laptop. I am trying to do a unified (custom and heavily minimalized) kernel image with a full-disk encrypted btrfs partition, and for some reason it cannot boot the btrfs subvolumes correctly (perhaps because I made each important directory in the Linux filesystem hierarchy its own subvolume?). The btrfs partition became corrupted due to either power loss from an electrical blackout or from the Gentoo live media crashing every now and then for some reason, so I lost all of my progress, but thankfully I made a lot of notes to redo everything quickly.

Anyway, there’s a lot of tasks I have to do beforehand before I am ready to attempt content creation. However, I know how intense college is, so even if I get my desktop and server running so I can self-host a personal PeerTube instance and my own blog site, I may not have time for a while because I will be studying for most of the day, and my spouse and I have agreed I need to get everything done so we have one day of time together each week. So it may not be feasible for me until I get my degree and either find a job or perhaps try to start an electronics repair shop if things get desperate. I like the idea of having a commie electronics repair video channel. There’s not enough commie tech channels.

No matter if a red project 2025 candidate or blue project 2025 candidate is elected, the workers lose. We are heading towards a major crisis no matter the election result. This is why organizing early for the long-term is important.

I was a bit lazy on the “communism and socialism teaming up” as an analogy. I just meant if socialism and communism were personified as two people in this meme, they would be working mutually in separate timelines. To improve on the analogy, I could say socialism has a gun to capitalism’s head while giving a handshake to communism sitting behind.

Not even concessions anymore. Just anti-China (anti-Russia, etc.) rhetoric in an attempt to rile the masses towards supporting unprecedented, deadly imperialist wars while the West spirals down toward fascism as it tries to bring the rest of the world down with it.

I predict there wouldn’t need to be a violent revolution between socialism and communism as at that point, we would be acting like civil adults for once. By the time socialism comes to an end, humanity would be conditioned to be not reactionary anymore (or at least minimally). Socialism and communism would be teaming up against capitalism, imo.
