If I ever get a comment on an older piece it usually is because I’ve posted something else recently in a more active fandom. Despite seeing the easy logic it happens so rarely it still catches one off guard when it finally happens. Lovely to hear it happening to you!

The part of season 2 was such an upgrade jump from season 1 I’m trying very hard not to have higher expectations for the next set!

Ooooh. Yeah I have one last post for that pairing week too. As in, I’m just doing one more, not that I’ve nearly completed the prompts. 4 out of 7 is a passing grade right? Sour I couldn’t pull myself for a sickfic. Always a sucker for that classic.

Domaystic! Got inspired by a certain WIP and wanted to draw the Driving oneshot but fuck fuck fuck getting any visual reference of someone driving that isn’t just a damn profile is hideous. I could turn off visual safety and find some porn angle shots but my sex-postive part of my aroaceness falls apart as soon as reality gets involved. Ugh.

I won’t have kids. I absolutely have taught other people’s kids though.

Well damn my original comment got eaten. The only recommendation I have is a Sonic fancomic: The Heart of a Monster. It’s a rewrite of Unleashed. Taking place 10 months after Shadow’s game and will apparently explore the timeline reset from 2006. Not sure how fast a comic reader you are but there are 300 pages of story thus far!

Ah, also forgot to add that I finally started expanding my dreamwidth blog! Don’t quite understand the limits of posting images but hosting on another spot like tumblr is no big deal.

Started somewhere in March and I know it ends when April does. I cannot find the original post that mentions it on here for some reason. And further frustrating because I feel it has to also be a dreamwidth post but I also can’t find that.

Yeah. The actual card game lol. Perhaps has anyone tried replaying that duel with the real cards that you can reference? I remember there was a video some time ago where a few duelist played out Sugoroku’s deck against Seto’s to find out in delight that because Sugoroku’s deck is literally full of “pathetic cards” it makes Seto’s virus strat completely useless lol.

In general fandom stuff on my own time, yes. It only took me over a decade to write the first fics for a stupid dinosaur game. No regrets there. But in reading your response a thought came to me to where some of my personal hypocrisy comes from? That pressure knowing how a lot of people will just not engage with something if they don’t think they will get attention. Why people keep sticking to places like reddit instead of helping other sites grow.

The latest brain worm to grab me was what I was complaining about last week (or the week before?). The 2 musical animated series based in hell. The people who attack those for liking it and even fellow fans attacking each other for not liking things the right way. Usually I can roll with this but right now its at a particular pitchfork, fires with bandwagon stage. Obviously the smart answer is “wait to post and play after the trolls and purity police move onto something else” but that’s not how special interests work lol.

I just meant in general, regardless of game use. Meganium and Galvantula are among my favourites but aren’t great for a serious teams (I use them anyways <3).

More of, “I wished my schedule allowed me to dive into this more” + anxieties/hopes to finding safe places to be stupid about new favourite things. Also a way to keep better eye on challenges and events. Not a great feeling when something rare you are into had an event and you completely missed it lol.

I have no interest nor energy to update anything I’m on for a daily nor weekly bases. Despite the fact I compulsively doodle nearly every day and thus technically have “content” that could be shared. But no thank you. (If anything to start, I’d just be posting old work on Dreamwidth. Have to continue spreading my love of DinoRun to absolutely nobody lol)

Congrats on the restart! Pokémon is also one of my longest hyper-fixations. I love mythical dexes and monster raisers and that was one of the very few video games that had those elements that came to my country at the time. Which monster(s) is your favourite? (this question is open to everyone please I can happily talk about this for too long)

The world really feels like its falling apart. However somehow various distractions are helping me not completely drown in misery and finally work opportunities are cropping up. Yay?

I made a Dreamwidth account some time ago and proceeded to completely forget about it. I’d like to get it properly figured out brain, please.

There are a handful of comic peers I know who have either bought or made their own visual assets that they can drag/arrange for misc backgrounds and so on. Saves so much time and I deeply envy not being able to hold a consistent enough of an artstyle or POV to be able to take advantage of that as well.

I’m glad to hear that some parts have gotten easier. 100% always effort but as with all art forms can catch us off guard where said efforts actually have to be applied!

Oh good catch! I absolutely do that in drawing depending on the art style my brain has decided to focus on. Usually the more “simple” looking the style, the worse it gets. The less details there are the more vital that each line is shaped just right. (The oneshot I tried to draw in Humongous Entertainment’s style was a special hell.)

The only reason I’m getting things done is that I’m largely embracing that if I want anything done, I have to allow stories to be short. Notes that were 30+ pages long (mixed with notes I forgot were for other stories (80% being doodles)), taking out the most clear parts and making that a 18 page comic. But I also enjoy cold opens and open endings. Those who prefer more traditional pop culture western story structures would 100% be in hell.

And for certain fandoms there is less meta pressure because the official works are astoundingly poorly written/designed. They dare ask people to give them money for massive plotholes. Some plotholes easily fixed if they tweaked a handful of lines (hi SwordShield).

If companies can charge for rushed jobs and earn billions for it, I’m clearly doing fantastic for being a team of one giving shit out for free.

Oh I’d have a special meltdown if I lost my drawing equipment!

To be worried if something is too wild is a very common worry in story design, fandom and original! Perhaps because I’m on that side of the spectrum that has no shame in pure crack fiction I’ve not had that issue. But it is fascinating to watch people overthink such things. Especially when they are writing fanfic for a setting that has Mario level amount of thought into it’s design.

While I have been exhausted I’ve finally gotten some clarity in my anxiety fog. Here’s hoping it lasts more than a few days!

Watching the reactions of my latest oneshot. I started exasperated but now I’m just… observing? The particular surrealness of being lucky to be in a fandom where OCs are the norm but also still being hit with the “where is basic media literacy please help” one often gets hit with in bigger fandoms.

My main project is going to be 5 years old soon. Project that has established multiple times that I’m taking full advantage of the isekai setting and that people are not always falling into the new world with their preferred gender identity (or any other body-type identity they may have originally relied on). Yet I still get people going, “what is gender of this character I’m going to assume X because they have this one physical feature”.

So if anyone has to deal with someone complaining about other stories doing “why are they being so blatant this character is trans do they have to rub it in my face” you can always point them to fucking me lol.

I’m struggling to get kbin to see your lemmy instance so that’s annoying. I will join when I figure out why I’m messing this up.

It’s improved in the sense that I have found new stim toys to abuse! So hurray for distractions I guess??

Tumblr has. There is now a setting (that they did not announce) to turn on/off your blogs to be used for AI data. Yes, its separate for each blog you might have. Yes, its location is different depending on if you mobile or pc.

I didn’t know Chuck Tingle wrote horror! Heck, despite my general aroace tastes I keep thinking I will dive into Tingle’s work eventually. The titles and summaries are so delightful.

I’ve successfully finished all the pages for my latest PMD oneshot! It’s nice to have something all finished and queued to post so I no longer have to think about it. (also funny that I got it done before that event LeGaosaure had shared last week. will need to find something else to fit into that instead!)

I’m also starting to fall hard into the Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss stuff too. Been teaching myself how to draw the characters and wishing I could share some online because I’m super pleased with how they are coming but since this is a new fandom that exploded it means those who love/hate it are out in full force. I’m not in the mood to have to navigate around fans who ignore basic research and I’m not in the mood to deal with haters who can’t do basic research.

Which my brain should find ironic. I’m in other fandoms where the blind love/hate is equally insane. But. But in general even people who hate Nintendo’s very existence do not accuse Nintendo fans of being pro-slavery despite Nintendo legally gifting themselves indentured servitude in freaking 2020s (for those who do not know, look up the Gary Bowser case).

Because most people have not heard about that. And this is kind of my point. Men getting away with literal slavery in public doesn’t invoke massive online screaming. However a bi hispanic woman who creates a successful franchise with characters of so many minorities and hires minority creators to help make it -doesn’t have a squeaky clean background- means no one can be normal about this.

And just. VivziePop has things she should be accountable for. But how can accountability be asked for when the people who were actually hurt are downed out by complete lies?

I don’t want this post to be entirely negative. I don’t like that most of my posts have been that as of late. But not sure were to go with this. Hazbin stuff has been making me laugh and smile harder than I have in a very long time. I’m a sucker for drama-queen characters so flawed its a miracle they haven’t died via choking on their own saliva.

Technically not officially announced and it’s rumours. But given Tumblr’s record of horrible choices I would not be surprised. Further reminder for me to start fixing up my Pillowfort and such lol aaaaa

I’m still emotionally shot. Anxiety is amped and it doesn’t take much for me to panic. But hey, I’m existing.
