I had ear surgery yesterday that will hopefully help with my hearing loss and sinus drainage. I’ve been waiting for almost two years for this hoping that my country would start to cover the procedure but finally said fuck it, it’s worth it for my quality of life. Feeling like I have a head cold today, but without the sick feeling. So far I think I can hear better already but not sure if it’s just wishful thinking lol. I’m cautiously optimistic!

I’m very late to this post! The boys are living their best summer life, coming and going as they please, lounging in the grass, and playing in the woods. Worrying their mom when they don’t come home till late. They are brothers, almost two years old, and the orange is Diesel and the black is Styx.

Man, it warms the cockles of my heart that every time I see Maryland in the news they’re either on the right side of history or just kicking ass in general. I may be a Canadian but I grew up there and it will always be my home state. Congrats girl!

I was in Seattle one night and as my husband and I were walking back to our hotel room, fairly wasted I should say, we saw a lady walking down the street having a real bad time. She was super drunk and crying and kept falling down as she was wearing these ridiculous platform heels. I said we’ve got to go help her and we intercepted her. Picked her up and calmed her down a bit, asked her where she was going, how far to home. Figured we’d hail a cab and pay for it. She pointed to a building and said that’s where so we were like ok and we’re ready to send her on her way and she fell again. I was like nah, you can’t walk in these so I helped her take them off and then was like oh no, you can walk barefoot in the city so I took off my boots and socks and gave her my thick wool socks to finish the walk. Off she went. I hope she still has them, they were awesome socks.

I did not remember the whole thing when I woke up and was all, where tf are my socks??

Not who you were talking to, but no, the closing costs are one time only. You basically just renew or get a new mortgage somewhere else. Ours is coming up in October, we’re a bit worried but hopeful it won’t be too bad. We’ve got wiggle room as we got a great deal on our house but it’s still going to suck. I have seen a 10 year fixed, might go for that if we can get a good enough rate.

I work in a trade school and apprenticeship has been around for ages so I think it would translate. I would just say that I help teach apprentices along with their masters, specifically about boats and ships.

Oh wow! That is sharp! Beautiful work! Patterning definitely seems to be the secret ingredient. And yes, from my looking into it everyone has a different way. Way back in the 90s the shop I worked in had the sail service and canvas in the same area so I would help the guy that did all the patterns and frames sometimes. He used heavy poly for the patterns. Very cool to watch and learn from. Unfortunately I never did more after that to cement it in my brain. I’ll be patterning for mine, not worth all the fuss with the 3D stuff for just my own job. Also I want to make a hard Bimini so everything is going to get changed up anyways.

The guys I know do know how to pattern but they’re young uns and very tech savvy so they have modified to suit their needs. Use a camera they already have and take a bunch of pictures, run that through the modeling software and then flatten it and send it to their plotter. I don’t think they spent more than 15k for plotter and software? Also one of them is the sewer so already informed of the project. Works for them but I feel that you should know how to pattern first as well. They are trying to get set up for people to send their files to them and then they can cut and send back.

Definitely do! It’s super easy to grow. It likes to spread something fierce though so I’ve done mine in a big pot. Seems to be doing ok.
