  • This has been talked many times before but little is being done.

I think the gov can’t really do much aside from increasing stockpile and, maybe, relax price control of food crops. Agriculture in Malaysia are run by mostly private players which the gov has little control over. And private players will always chase short term profit first; national interest, social wellbeing are not in thier list of concerns.

Also, cable. The agro industry is remarkably untransparent. I mean, who is setting the price of vegetables? (Afaik gov only curb prices of vegetables during festive season)

  • You can get away with this if the name is in another language.

    • Dragons in Chinese names are not unusual. Ah Long etc.
    • Malay names with ~ul are technically objects. Nurul, Kamarul, Abdul etc. ~ul means “of”, so for the name to be complete it should have something behind it, usually referring to God, eg. Nurul Ain, Kamaruddin, Abdulrahman. (Sauce: Arab speaking int student told me)

  • This is a bad idea. Used to do call centre customer service, and while it wasn’t implemented on our side, some contacts that got routed to us seems to be handled by chatbots before, and people aren’t happy.

Human condition is complex, organic, often unique circumstances. A brain dead statistical machine like AI cannot be expected to handle these things well.

Now, if it is for health related big data analytics, like epidemic modeling, demographic changes, effect of dietary patterns (notoriously hard to model actually), then I don’t see anything wrong with that. Caring for people? No way.
