I switched to Tuxedo. It solved some weird stability issues I had, which were mostly monitor resolution and layout issues.
I’m new to the world of Linux as a main OS, and I ran Mint for a while, wanted to try KDE Plasma, installed and ran it on mint for a while and blew away mint for a distro with KDE Plasma once I knew it’s what I wanted.
To say I had jank is an understatement.
Asus made me handwrite a note with a picture of the card in the computer in frame, and the box and receipt, just to register the warranty.
Assholes.
I know a lot more than fuck all about Linux, but I’m also super lazy, so Mint is a good option.
I also want something that my wife finds easy. She’s now on her second week, and only one issue which she rebooted and it went away. After that, there is benefit to making mine like hers in case I ever need her to do something when I’m away and don’t have remote access.
Mint. Cinnamon for my wife. Probably the same for me, though I’m debating XFCE.
For me it is. I migrated my wife last week and mine is next week. AI spying is the last straw for me.
That’s what I took it to mean.
Elon Musk makes lots of claims…

How would it crumble? He’s declared bankruptcy so many times, people can’t decide if it’s 4 or 6.
In spite of that, dumb asses think he’s a financial genius.
Isn’t that just paying the debt?
VMware is not on death row. VMware is already dead. It no longer exists. All that’s left is an entity possessing its corpse.
Way to deliberately misrepresent what I said.
My grandfather and uncle both served in my countries military, and I didn’t know what else to do at the time. While yes, they are used in combat, the majority of what they do is not warfare.
During my time, we assisted in sandbagging villages from flooding, helped fight forest fires, protected civilians fleeing from a warlord, etc. I personally never participated in those missions, but it was part of why I signed up.
As I said, I don’t always support how our military is used, but the need is real. And that, unfortunately, sometimes includes fighting.
No. But I should. Probably time to start.
GenX continues to not exist.
I hate being thanked. It’s not why I put on a uniform. I did it because I believed in the need, even if not always how the military is used.
You are completely discounting accidental racism. Every person at every level involved could have had no bad intentions and still have the sum total be so.
All that said, you didn’t mention the actual problem with the movie that led to the commentary… total shitty dumpster fire levels of writing.
George Lucas has always been clear that a major influence on Star Wars was old serials like Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon. You know what was extremely common in those old serials? Racist stereotypes for villains and racist stereotypes for side kicks, also often cartoonish buffoons.
Again, not saying he was intentionally racist, but with the lack of quality writing skills, it’s clear he fell back to tropes from his favourite stories from his childhood. Those tropes usually horribly racist. A better writer could have done better with those tropes.
It was you!!!
