Just take anyone who speaks a second language and ask them to explain their expertise in the second language. Almost everyone will start sounding stupid trying to do the translation in their head to the second language.
OMG, the Expanded PDF is amazing and absolutely the type of thing I am looking for! Thank you so much for that. I’m already excited to put the ideas into play.
I already have two locals who actually grew up in Otari. The bard and the barbarian grew up together as step sisters and are friends with the various townspeople. The other two are friends with the two and have also been offered the fish camp as a place to stay. So I’m feeling quite solid for the local connections that will motivate the investigation.
I will definitely look into that podcast, thanks.
Oh yes, I love it when the drinks are flat. I find the carbonation kinda burns so having less of that makes the drink better.
Also, you don’t get it back up the nose when you burp.
I like how Pathfinder 2E does it. A 20 brings your result one tier higher. A 1 brings your result one tier lower. With a high enough base expertise, you can still succeed when rolling a 1, just not as awesome as you normally are. And a 20 isn’t a guarantee against really strong foes.

Man, I miss that series.
I thought it was Facehugger school…
Huh, so that’s a completely new concept I’ve learned today. Time to do more reading. Thanks!
Patricia C Wrede. The Enchanted Forest Chronicles. The titles for the series are below: Dealing with Dragons Searching for Dragons Calling on Dragons Talking to Dragons
Fantasy stories with each book centered around one protagonist and a meta take of your usual fairy tales. And includes wizards, dragons, princesses too.
I just view it as a way of supporting the creators and maybe some day there will be some more material and/or a fellow player comes across it and maybe we can game together.
Thanks for posting and also giving the solution. Short and cute game
I would love it too. I’ve accidentally clicked to an article instead of scrolling down too many times.
