Can we just acknowledge that this is unhinged? Biden has the strongest border policies ever implemented by a Democrat. This just shows that there is no compromise possible with these traitors. Not really a rundown. Just years of paying attention. The basic thing is they aren’t recognizing the right to declare asylum after entering the country anymore. You have to wait in your home country or Mexico until your paperwork is processed. Of course that’s ridiculous considering how the cartels prey on the refugees and asking someone to stay in the country they are seeking asylum from.
A more cynical person might suggest they are doing this BECAUSE of that. Biden can’t run on the numbers if Texas keeps blocking action.

It really is sad to see so many Americans captivated by misinformation that they’ve convinced themselves is real. Abandoning science, reason, discussion, compromise, even tolerance. I try to keep my bloodthirst in check but after years upon years of them growing like a cancer, forming cult-like militia, becoming full blown domestic terrorists threatening high treason, it can’t be tolerated any further. It was cute when it was just posturing, symbolizing they were unhappy with the system at large and wanted to fuck with it a little.
Now it’s spiraled out of control. Now the punishment for treason should be felt. Either mercifully with the arrest of Abbott or vengefully with the GOP Texans being buried under the new courthouse.

I have yet to see this mentioned in any of these threads, at least the ones that I have read. If Texas secedes or tries to, Republicans lose 38 seats in the House of Representatives and two Senate seats. This give the House to Democrats for the foreseeable future and Democrats an easier path to passing bills in the Senate. Not that Texas, Abbott, cares.

The only issue I have with secession talk is there are lots of Texas citizens who aren’t the problem. Every red state has people with common sense, they just don’t have the ability at the moment to shut up the idiots. Plus secession at this point is ludicrous, leaving with your toys isn’t how you fix problems. Oh wait, it’s Republicans, they don’t ever have solutions anymore anyway it’s all a political game.
The pro-seccession crowd here isn’t even the majority of Republicans. They brought a petition to out a measure on the primary ballot and the state GOP said no. Then the state Supreme Court declined to intervene.

Yeah, I don’t think you understand what that statement means. A government failure would absolutely lead to a significant part of the the population dying. And that would be the good outcome for a lot of folks. A whole lot more would starve to death very slowly.

Very, very, very few States have the experience at this moment to operate as an independent nation. Like maybe four or five. The rest would either devolve into complete chaos and with it take a significant part of the population, or be invaded which would very likely have similar outcome.

Yeah, there’s a lot of people like it or not that have an axe to grind. And wouldn’t really matter to them if the US fell apart, in fact it would encourage them to settle that chip on their shoulder.
So I’m just going to tell you, your proposal would very likely get yourself killed and everyone you love killed and pretty much everyone commenting on this story killed as well. There would be a lot of dead bodies. Just literally look at any country that began falling apart and you can see that the body count starts increasing at a rapid pace when the Government completely falls apart.
I don’t understand why people think that government falling apart or civil war means that a significant part of the country’s population doesn’t die? There’s over 8,000 years of evidence of societies collapsing equaling a shit ton of people dying. If there’s people wanting to die that badly, there are better ways that do not involve 10% to 20% of the civilian population.
A lot of people will die, but probably nowhere near a majority, but the reason for unity is the same as the reason 250 years ago: if we split up each small part will become the puppet to some foreign country.
