Also conservatives: we’ll intentionally break something, publicly prevent you from fixing it, blame you for it being broken, and our media will ensure our voters never know that we did all this - it’s all your fault!

Or when a million people died of Covid with the president actively undermining public health measures

Or when they had a mob invade the capitol to kill anyone who wasn’t loyal to the leader

Or taking away Hispanic immigrants’ children from their parents forever because they committed a misdemeanor immigration violation

Or nakedly power-grabbing the Supreme Court to undo abortion rights which this guy somehow blames Biden for

Or threatening election workers and officials if they don’t produce the right outcomes

Or literal rape by the president

Or the wholesale murder of CIA assets because the president leaked their identities

      Or project 2025

What am I missing? I’m sure there’s stuff just as big I have simply forgotten.

Japanese internment camps, government doing medical experiments on their own people, funding extremists to topple democracies, creating a crack epidemic to both fund the toppling of democracies abroad and to put a whole bunch of black people in prison as they became addicted. There’s a whole bunch of war crimes as well, I guess. Oh, and bombing labour protests from warplanes.

Oh yeah. I was just thinking of the couple years before Biden arrived. But yeah they said darkest chapter ever I guess, so we could talk about School of Americas teaching people how to cut civilian’s heads off and use them to terrorize the others, or starving Iraqi kids with sanctions and saying well shit happens y’know, or Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib, or slavery, or…

But yeah that Biden’s a real nasty character I guess.

    What an absolutely ignorant statement.

Darker than when we killed 1.5 million of our own people?

    https://www.battlefields.org/learn/articles/civil-war-casualties

Or when we attempted to exterminate Native American tribes?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_of_Tears

Or the decade we had 23% unemployment?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Depression

Or when we destroyed the lives of untold private citizens based on unfounded accusations?

    https://www.senate.gov/about/powers-procedures/investigations/mccarthy-and-army-mccarthy-hearings.htm

Or lost millions of lives in a global pandemic?

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11875246/

Or lost hundreds of thousands of lives in a different pandemic?

The title is a statement and it’s quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve read in years, and that’s coming after two terms of W. Bush and one term of Trump, so that’s saying something.

I get where you’re coming from, but throwing around terms like “dumb” doesn’t really help the discussion. It also seems there’s a bit of exaggeration going on.

How about we zoom in on the specific points we disagree on and have a more balanced conversation?

The exaggeration is in the premise. “Darkest chapter in history.”

No, no it fucking isn’t. There’s nothing to discuss there. It’s not even the darkest chapter this century, much less “in history”.

9/11 when there was a real possibility we were going to nuke someone by the end of the day was darker.

The 2008 financial crisis when people sincerely though their financial futures just evaporated before their eyes was darker.

            Sure.

It’s incredibly dumb to say that Biden’s presidency is the darkest chapter in history when contrasted against:

            (insert bullet points)

Each zoomed in bullet point in isolation is so mind-bogglingly dumb that it’s hard to see how any of this got published in an official periodical at all. Which bullet point were you arguing was less dark than Biden’s presidency specifically?

It’s so sad that people like you derive joy from being willfully ignorant. It’s easy to just call you stupid and be done with it, but you’re so stupid that it’s concerning. I can’t imagine anyone in your life just letting you be as ignorant as you are, but then again you likely don’t have anyone worthwhile in your life to begin with. Poor kid.

I’m sure you’re directing that at the original author of the article, which is totally allowed, and not at the submitter of the article, which is not allowed under rule 3 and would get your comment removed.

This is being reported as “disinformation”, but it is so hilariously, ludicrously wrong, and been torn apart in the comments for being so, I’m allowing it for now because it’s important for people to see the counter arguments.
