I spent 36 hours in Chicago, wonderful city, amazing culinary opportunities. I ate 5 deep dish pizzas in that time, pequads, dinos, Uno’s, … Can’t remember the other two… Each of them were unique, offered a different style, pequads was my favorite but I didn’t appreciate the wait to have it brought out (I’m used to waiting for a deep dish, but man that was a wait, excellent cheesey burn on the outside of the crust). Old Chicago Pizza in Petaluma California is better than any deep dish that I had in Chicago. No disrespect to Chicago, but if you find yourself just north of San Francisco it’s worth a visit to the old brothel that currently has one of the best pizza experiences on the planet.
I may have overloaded myself on deep dish pizza, it may have been my palette appreciating something different, but “the publican” was the best meal I had in Chicago. I have even ordered their mail order brunch a couple times, it has yet to disappoint.
My take on deep dish.

I don’t dislike Stewart’s take on it though XD
