Ah yes, because of the Jewish “freedom fighters” which killed 1500 nazis and kidnapped nazi women and children which was the trigger to the Holocaust. Yes it’s an exact parallel.

Of course it isn’t an exact parallel. Jews fleeing persecution were given a country in another people’s land. Palestinians fleeing Gaza are being sent back.

Were there no jewish people living in israel prior to 1948? Do the Jewish people have no historical claim to Israel?

So if I live in a country then I’m free to bring in everyone considered the same ethnicity as me from anywhere else in the world because of my historic precedent?

The Jewish people living in Palestine at the time were largely ostracized by the immigrating European Zionists. Correct, the Jewish people have no historical claim to the area, given that said claim was won through brutal conquest and genocidal subjugation of the people who already lived there.

Despite what Israeli propaganda would have you believe, the current escalation did not begin all of a sudden with the Oct 7th attacks, and there was no “permanent ceasefire” in place at that time.

Israel has been illegally occupying Palestinian territory since 1967 (ignoring the fact the latter were ousted from their homeland in 1948, when the modern state of Israel was formed) and has oppressing and ethnic cleansing these areas ever since. The Oct 7th attacks just spurred on the Netanyahu government to try and finish the job in Gaza once and for all.

Can you remind us who initiated the 6 day war please? Were the allies “illegally” occupying germany after ww2?

Sure - the 6 Day War was initiated by Israel, which then seized territory in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights, and Sinai Peninsula.

This is illegal under international law, particularly according to United Nations Security Council Resolution 242, which Israel has managed to successfully ignore ever since.

Closing the straits was not technically an act of war, and a preemptive strike (like Israel’s) means you start a war first, no matter which way you look at it.

You know you don’t need to intentionally misunderstand the point, right? That doesn’t really help anyone.
