Trump’s comments came at a rally in Ohio in the context of auto manufacturing. The Biden campaign responded by criticizing the former president’s “threats of political violence.”

Former President Donald Trump vowed on Saturday that there would be a “bloodbath” if he’s not reelected in November.

The comments came at a rally here as Trump discussed the possibility of an increasing trade war with China over auto manufacturing. The rally was intended to get out the vote for Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, whom Trump endorsed in December, ahead of Ohio’s primary on Tuesday.

Later, he added, “If this election isn’t won, I’m not sure that you’ll ever have another election in this country.”

    Whole quote:

“If you’re listening, President Xi — and you and I are friends — but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now…you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us, no. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected.”

"Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories.”

“If this election isn’t won, I’m not sure that you’ll ever have another election in this country.”

“Biden’s policies will create an economic bloodbath for the auto industry and auto workers.”

Huh, that title definitely takes it out of context. Don’t get me wrong, a violent bloodbath is absolutely his plan, but this quote seems to be more about an economic bloodbath

Trying to interpret his actual intent is pointless. That’s why his base likes him, he talks in circles, and you can attribute whatever meaning you want to it.

But if we’re going by his actual words, he’s saying that there will be a blood bath if he’s not elected, and that the tariff is the least of the trouble that’s going to happen when he takes power.

But his words and mid sentence topic changes can lead you to literally any conclusion.

This is the key thing to bear in mind. While the context does seem somewhat legit, it’s really framed in a way that can give several different messages, which is how he always talks - peppering in vitriolic soundbites amid a word salad of talking points. And it’s clear the part his supporters latch onto is the jingoistic core found in everything he says.

One thing that I’ve found is super consistent across all Trumpers that I’ve ever spoken to.

They have no fucking clue what tariffs are.

Articles like this strain the credibility of MSNBC with clickbait headlines. This comes from a conversation regarding cheap imports causing a “ECONOMIC bloodbath” in the automotive industry.

I have NO love for Trump, but for the love of God, save your outrage for something else he’s going to do other than lament the state of the auto industry.

A more honest headline would be “Trump discusses ECONOMIC bloodbath” “Troubles ahead for American autoworkers says Trump”, etc. but of course MSNBC is filled with hacky journalists so they go for maximum outrage, knowing full well that most people only read the headline and that’s it.

man for alleging them misrepresenting what was said, you sure are adding your own words. He didn’t say ‘economic bloodbath’. He said bloodbath in the context of losing the election, just like this news article is alleging. “Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it,”

Can you please reiterate the entire statement?

I’m far from a Trump supporter but you clearly didn’t read the article.

For saying, to Xi, that the 100% tariffs Trump will put on the cars he (Xi) builds in Mexico will be an economic bloodbath, because nobody in America, the intended audience, will buy the cars?

MSNBC is doing a great job making people look dumb.

Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it,"

the bloodbath is in the context of losing the election, not China’s cars.

For real, maybe two of the 60+ comments at this time reference the content of the article. The rest reference the sensationalized and wildly out of context headline. Articles like this are perfect for the Trump base to latch onto to say look, Demos spreading propaganda, because that’s all it is.

We have literally seen this happen already. It’s maddening that there’s no mention of January 6th in relation to this latest comment. Or at every possible chance to do so.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The comments came at a rally here as Trump discussed the possibility of an increasing trade war with China over auto manufacturing.

The rally was intended to get out the vote for Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, whom Trump endorsed in December, ahead of Ohio’s primary on Tuesday.

“This is who Donald Trump is: a loser who gets beat by over 7 million votes and then instead of appealing to a wider mainstream audience doubles down on his threats of political violence,” Singer said.

“He wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat this November because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence, and his thirst for revenge.”

Before he began speaking, the former president stood and saluted next to the lectern as “Justice for All,” by the “J6 choir“ of inmates awaiting trial for their roles in the insurrection played on the loud speakers.

At the event, Trump also said that some undocumented immigrants were “not people,” although he added that he was “not allowed to say that because the radical left says it’s a terrible thing to say.” He also told Catholics not to vote for Biden.

The original article contains 542 words, the summary contains 200 words. Saved 63%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

This may be just the kind of response we need to bring about a sort of reform that prevents any MAGA style dictatorship in the present or future, but I can’t help but worry about the gun-nut trump lovers that will go out and murder anyone they think is a democrat if this happens.

the ones that are all on about it… are full of bluster.

it’s the MAGA-idiots that don’t broadcast you gotta be worried about.
