It’s sad but I am considering withdrawing myself from the party I am a member of. It’s not that I hate them or that anything noteworthy happened between us but I feel like there are lots of things I want to do but have no room for within the party structure. Only problem is, is that I don’t know what to do instead.

I can see that. PVDA-PTB seem to be too focused on reform to me, although I still think they are the best option and that they have some revolutionary ideas. It’s possible to make them more revolutionary IMO.

I will say I kinda feel the same about BIJ1. I have been toying with the idea of joining NCPN. I kinda feel like BIJ1 can never become a big party and never become the vanguard. The fact that it’s such a big tent party doesn’t help. I like the idea of intersectionality and think that every communist org should include that in their ideals, but for BIJ1 I feel like that’s one of the only things that bind the party together. There’s no coherent leftism in BIJ1 since there’s people from all sorts of leftist movements. We call ourselves a extraparliamentary party but I see nothing of that. I’ve only seen more extraparliamentary work recently but that’s because we’re not in parliament or the municipal council anymore. There wasn’t even a BIJ1 delegation at 1st of May for fuck’s sake. But I hope I can help steer the party more towards Marxism-Leninism and hope I can make them work with other leftist parties more and focus more on extraparliamentary politics. But it’s hrd since I’m just one person, and the other ML’s I know from BIJ1 have left the party now.

I disagree. PVDA-PTB toes a fine line, tbh.

Besides, reform is good to give your working-class constituency victories; the communist movement is not as strong as it once was.

As long as revolution is the main goal, then movement-building and reform here and there are fine.

Partly yes. I mean, I get that it’s elections and that it is important. But at the same time the default plan for now fell back to asking people to vote for us and that’s not my thing I guess.

Maybe when the election season is over things will get better. Maybe we get elected and, God forbid, have to default back to electoral politics.

Other things that bug me are mainly personal things. I have a busy live with all kinds of things, work included and I don’t always have the time to show up to last minute changed plans. Sometimes I get passive agressive remarks about that and I have an issue with that.

We’ll see how it goes. The alternatives mentioned so far are trotskyist or anarchist orgs and I’m not even thinking about doing that lol.

I also got a fast lane ticket to see the sad state of the Western left as one of the first suggestions I got for joining another org was one that basically goes CHINA BAD CHINA BAD CHINA BAD

The far right will win the elections here and I just realized something: I am a migrant. I might be looking at being deported lol.

I’m a child of a migrant and there is a non-zero chance she’ll be deported, especially since she doesn’t have Dutch nationality. But she does have EU nationality and she’s white so I think she’s alright

Yeah it probably helps to be white (as always). Unfortunately I do consider Vlaams Belang to be even more unhinged than PVV.

It’s a new week and it started off with a holiday. Cleaned my house, had a run and took a walk through a local park. I made seed bombs and was throwing them all over the place. Probably looked like a lunatic to people passing by but then again they didn’t ask questions either.

The country has been once again blessed with days of torrential downpour. When I lived in The Netherlands I always thought I experienced rain. That was until I moved to Belgium.

    Me normally: nationalize everything

Me when I have to go to the government run liquor store with long lines, shit selection, absurd prices and infuriating ID check at the door to keep poor people out cause its the only place to buy hard liquor: you know privatization has its merits…

That’s a very badly (and hostile) implemented system

Besides, there is a place for small businesses like bars even in communism, just a bit different from this system

The Green Party over here is launching an attack on our party for ‘not being able to condemn Putin’. Which is weird, because the party has done that on multiple occasions now. Even on the first day of the SMO. The party even issued a motion to get Putin to the ICC, however cringe it may be.

I wonder why the greenies are taking this stance when it is so easily debunked.

Are ultras banned in the 'grad? I’m hoping they are, but then at the same time there’s clearly some tolerance even for libs (sadly). And if not, who should I talk to, to try to free this space from bad-faith (I suppose in hindsight, that was a given) ultras?

Other instances’ liberals are annoying especially when abusing Marxist language but it’s not a good idea to ban them remove them over one conversation. Besides the conversation you had with them is an interesting one to read for someone looking to understand the nuances of imperialist relations.

Fair enough- admittedly, I allowed myself to get butthurt over their effectively calling me “red fash” (combined with their complete inability to absorb anything that was being said- though then again, that’s why they’re a ultra (if they can be even called that).

I got over my issues with the party and decided to just continue. I figured now is not the time to abandon the only party actively fighting the far right.

I made a very obviously ironic joke about how they hate us for our freedoms and 4k karma. By far my most liked comment. Lots of pro-Bush replies too. I think I’m done with irony, satire, and show don’t tell (which is actually CIA propaganda) until we’ve reached socialism.
