Yes. Chopin had a French name because his dad was a Frenchman, and French and German have tons of the same names because of how much history and ancestry they share. Schopen is a legit German name with many derivations like Schopenhauer.
Szopen in Polish is just straight polonisation of Chopin due to his popularity, but what i said above about French and German is also accurate about Polish and German so there are some people in Poland with the Schopen and similar names.

What is the actual French communist party?
The Pôle de Renaissance Communiste en France (pole for communist rebirth in France) is the closest thing from a proper Marxist-Leninist vanguard party we have in France, though they don’t call themselves a communist party because from the words off one of their main spokesperson (paraphrasing cause I don’t remember the exact quote) “We don’t say we’re a party because we’re materialists […] If I stand up and call myself a vanguard but when I walk out and turn around no one is following me, I’m not a vanguard”. One of their stated goal as an organization is to rebuild a proper vanguard communist party in France.
Out of all the parties I’ve looked at the PRCF is the only one I seriously consider joining.
I think it’s the one with the best line currently in France but I also heard that they use French flags in protests and marches, what’s up with that?
My litmus tests for parties are how they see themselves as relating to the proletariat, their line on LGBT issues, their line on China, and finally their position on decol if they are a colonizer. PRCF is good on China and LGBT, didn’t find much about decol and the little I did find was a little eyebrow-raising but requires more investigation.
From what I’ve gathered so far:

The PRCF also look up to the revolutionaries of the French revolution like Roberts Pierre because TL;DR: Roberts Pierre was actually kinda based for a lib and the narrative of the Terror and him being a psychopath who cut peoples heads for no reasons is mostly lies created by his political opponents after his death and reproduced until the present day by bourgeois scared that the legacy of past revolutionaries might give peoples the “wrong idea”.

On decolonization I need to learn more about their position but I at least know that they support the recent New-caledonians/Kanaks riot and blame Macron for the violence, and that they support the right of Kanaky to claim it’s independence. And they also oppose the Israel.
There are no orgs that can claim that title. The Parti Communiste Français has entirely dropped communism. They’re actually the least left wing of all. La France Insoumise is the biggest attempt at reformist movement that at least incorporate decent geopolitics, LGBT+ rights and anti-colonialism. They do have some Marxists in the backstage running the show but they’re still electoralists and refuse to structure themselves as a disciplined party meaning they also have a lot of weirdos. At their left there are only Trotskystes : Lutte Ouvrière is the most paranoid, Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste the most fractured with a billion tendencies
