    Anti gratitude!

I cannot feel my toes. Left bread directly under the radiator to rise overnight. It sunk. Fragrant brick for breakfast.

Lack of insulation in this country is disgusting. Climate change is only going to get worse, and I’m fully expecting that people will die in their homes when it’s too hot and too cold.

My buildings OC installed insulated windows in all the apartments, which has caused more condensation because they are airtight, and now it’s the occupants responsibility to make sure mold doesn’t occur 😑😑😑. But there no insulation in the roof as far as I can tell, so we lose heat through the roof. Either we have the split system on, which is old and inefficient, and lose heat. Or we leave it off and stay cold AS FUCK all day and night. The only saving grace is having oodies.

Hate the way we build in this stupid cuntry

I seem to be living in my oodie this winter. Nice clean clothes everyday then oodie goes on top, which I try to keep clean. Looking at it carefully it’s starting to wear out. 🫥

I got really lucky. I was able to get a script done for my kid AND pay with card at the Chemist Warehouse. Otherwise I wouldn’t have noticed at all

Sending some warm, muggy, late night love…

Man, it’s been years since I’ve spent time in the more chaotic parts of Asia. Favs atm are:

    • A passenger on a scooter legit carrying a ladder upright.
    • Gramps on his scooter living his best life riding at about 10kms an hour.
    • Women riding scooters in PJ’s

Living it up in Phnom Penh

I rode it scooter around Thailand. As it’s dangerous for tourists generally, I’d pick a grandma and potter along behind her through the chaos. Never had an issue.

        I did, too, years ago.

Though checking in a hotel in Patong and watching a slight Japanese woman wheeled out in wheelchair after she broke both and and legs (face looked fine, luckily) on a scooter, should be enough to make some people think twice.

I watched the start of the most absurdly hilarious movie last night. It’s called Hundreds of Beavers and the first 30 minutes is basically a Wile E Coyote skit. My god, I was losing it.

I hope the rest of it is just as good.

Okay, my final fancy purchase (I promise)

I got a second hand Sony speaker in pretty good condition for 30 bucks (an sbx-xrb-31 or something like that - Sony uses stupid names). It’s an absolute hoot. It has LEDs and features a “rave mode”

    Seriously:

I thought it was a bit bassy, but also quiet, but apparently it has an “extra bass” mode which i figured out how to turn off, and when it’s under 20% battery, it halves the volume

Sure. The little white LED is on both sides and flashes (vaguely) to the beat. The top led sort of changes colours with the rhythm

I did take a photo of the gigantic box it came in as well, but Lemmy seems to be struggling with photo uploads right now

Awesome! If they can be dual paired then it would be worthwhile to get another so you can get stereo sound.

Also you have a pool table. Fucking cool!

I’ve got a speaker from this era of Sony and it’s still going strong. Cool is a good setting to avoid those big light flashes if you want the party lights on

I think my bus just left without me… There was a bus parked up after (not at!) the bus stop showing as “not in service”. My bus (no tracking) was supposedly 5 minutes away, so I figured it was just waiting until peak time to start running, and another was going to come get me. Then the departure time comes and it pulls away, and I looked over, and it was marked with my route number. But it was too late, it was already half way down the bloody road

☹️ It’s coooooooold and I was only anticipating a 5 minute wait so I’m a little under dressed. Also, this bus route runs semi frequently (15 mins in peak), but I was going to catch this bus to connect with another bus which only runs hourly, which I’ll miss now. Ugh

I like public transport and if it was run more frequently and was a bit more convenient, I would use it most of the time, but yeah, it really sucks how they can just not run a service, or a bus can leave 10 minutes early, or 20 minutes late, and it’s just like “ok… What do you want me to do about it?”

I normally don’t complain but I was quite annoyed by that so I ended up being a bit of a Karen and calling PTV and politely lodging a complaint. Before they answered, there a message about VLine played: “Due to an external communications fault, all VLine rail services are currently suspended and will be held at the platform. We are unable to provide an estimated departure time, or a timeline for when services will resume.”. Pretty much everyone outside of the metro network is just fucked tonight. From what the app says, it doesn’t even seem like they’re trying to organise coaches - it literally just says “passengers should defer travel”

Passengers should defer travel. In the middle of peak hour. While they’re possibly hundreds of KMs from home with no other way to get back. JFC
