Peruvian restaurant has been tried (excellent) and friend has decided to head straight to Brunswick to hopefully avoid the worst of the traffic.
Now snuggling with Sammi while Zooki bops around on the newly vacuumed floor.Carls Jr Review: Don’t worry about it. It is similar to HJs, worse, but similar. I don’t mind having gone, but I’m unlikely to go again. Oh and they stooged me with a half full large chips.
I had it a few months ago and was unimpressed.
I was also unimpressed. It was so long ago we went so I can’t remember specifics, but I won’t be choosing to go back there.
Edit:this is a Melbourne thread, I visited a QLD store
They’re a franchise so I figure they’ll all disappoint in much the same way.
I was thinking of going out today but weather is a bit awful, eh.
I’m meeting a friend in Collingwood this arvo and am not looking forward to getting there by PT
What shit weather we have here guys!
I have fam visiting from the tropics. They are not coping 🤣🤣
Look how good things are in marble bar! They stole all the bloody nice weather :(
Qantas flies direct from Melbourne to Broome. They have a beach and high 20’s/sunny.
I don’t like Broome
I like marble bar
It’s shit alright. I’m feeling cold :(
It will be a good afternoon for one of us.
Let’s just ask for a good competitive game. That would make me happy even if I lose.
I’d like my team to win but you’re leading on the footy tips so I hope it goes well for you.
Just me or is Dermie really boring as a commentator?
Let’s see what happens. I’m not too optimistic because we’re playing in Tassie but I do have all my snacks ready.
Corn chips with mild salsa and a coffee!
Goodnight everyone ❤️
Oooh a new name to mess with!
Goodnight gibtron the bringer of cute cat photos! And goodnight minigibtron the bringer of cuddles and cuteness!
Goodnight everyone. 🦇
Goodnight soonysgoonsy.
Tonight you are permitted to sleepwalk down to Tassie, however you’re only approved to enter Tasmania under the condition you wear a cold suit and do not bring back any coldness with you. If you do, you may be sentenced under section 38A (1) (C3) of the NATO Convention On the Eradication Of Cold And Uninhabitable Temperatures Within Already Chilly Cities
You sound totally baku
Went to Crown Gold Class tonight to watch Deadpool & Wolverine.
Jfc, the food there has always been overpriced “shitty cinema food”, but now it’s absolutely revolting. I had to spit out my first and only bite of the cheese burger, and my partner couldn’t eat her margarita pizza as it was more salty than the heavily salted popcorn. Also why did they take nachos off the menu, something it would take a buffoon to fuck up?
It’s pretty hard to fuck up a cheeseburger.
I’m going on Sunday because a friend has free gold pass tickets that are about to expire. Is there free popcorn or do you have to buy it??
You get unlimited “free” popcorn if you order/share 5 items from the food menu which costs $110, otherwise you have to buy popcorn separately
Well, shit.
Nobody is gonna say shit if you buy a bag from Woolies or Coles with a paper bowl, but you’ll probs only be saving yourself $5-$7.
Hope you enjoy the film and have a nice time!
I’ve not been to the one at crown or to gold class, but I’ve literally never had anyone at any theatre (I’ve been to most of the majors) care about smuggling in some stuff from Coles. Granted I don’t just walk in holding a packet of chips, I usually just have a small pack of something and a drink stuffed in my pockets, but as long as you aren’t obvious about it they’re unlikely to care. Plus the entirety of Hoyts seems to be staffed by like 2 people who always seem horribly burnt out and give absolutely zero shits
Gold class is well worth the money if you’ve never been. As there are so few seats in the room and it being more expensive, it weeds out people that may disrupt your viewing experience. The seats are very comfy too. It’s like having a real home cinema screen. But it’s easy to get carried away and spend money though with a “press this button on your table for food or drinks” being available on demand.
But yeah, the people staffing at the Crown one are polite stereotypical minimum wage idgaf people, which is probably the same experience I assume at the Hoyts you’ve been to.
So to original replier: if you’re short on cash just don’t be a knob and no one will care. Maybe buy a drink / soda!?
Edit: typo
Edit 2: I’ve been there in gold class when people have brought in takeaway food before. No shits given.
I’ve always been curious about crown. I think from memory they have a KFC that’s open until 3am on Friday nights or something like that.
The one on chapel Street wins though, open til 6am before closing for a whopping 4 hours. Madness!
You know in all my years of living here I’ve never seen that KFC but a quick Google says it exists and is open until 5am.
I’ve probably never seen it because of the golden rule of “never eat at Crown”. I made an exception for the cinema and that was definitely the last time.
Oh wow, looks like they’ve upgraded their hours from the last time I looked at them. Open til 5 every night of the week. I thought it was until 3 and only on Fri/sat. I know Bourke St is like that
If you’re gagging for chicken mate, it’s better to jump on the 86 for a few stops and hit The Birmy for a parma. Way better value for money, and I bet you can’t finish it all without being overfull.
Yeah, that’s gross. It’s wild what places get away with.
Patiently waiting for beach volleyball…
Took the kids to the Tram Museum today. It was a big hit, they just liked climbing up and down the trams. I liked it as someone who didn’t grow up in Melbourne I got to learn a bit more about the history of the trams and the tram network.
I also learnt in a video that Melbourne has the largest tram network in the world at 250km of tramline. Whilst it’s good to have that title, it doesn’t sound like much. We could certainly do more to up those numbers.
So Cool. 😊They might enjoy the air museum too https://www.aarg.com.au/
The one in Hawthorn?
Also more little fun facts about our tram network for you (also stolen from videos):
We have the busiest tram corridor in the world (Swanston St). We also have the longest metropolitan tram route in the world - the route 75. We’re beaten by a rural one in the UK, and I believe a couple in Russia, but they’re all regional, where as the route 75 runs solely within 1 city
Yep, the Hawthorn one. It’s open every second weekend and things just lined up.
I would have thought the 86 was the longest. I’d like to see the comparison once they finally do the extension
That’s my tram corridor. 👍😊 It’s very convenient.
Doggocalhoon coming through with the comfort goods… All albums listened to. Might be time for bed soon.
PSA: For those that remember Sizzler, do you remember the cheese toast? I have only ever been to sizzler once many many years ago and barely remember it but I remember the cheese toast. Well apparently Coffee Club is doing a temporary revival of the famous cheese toast. Have not tried it yet but I will definitely go try it.
Do you remember the cheese toast
Core memory activated.
Went to Lucha Fantastica again today, after going to Raphs Deli for brunch. It’s becoming a tradition for us. Elder and I especially love the theatrics of it. Mr P loves the margaritas they serve. They’re $20ish but they free pour the tequila and are quite strong! Tastes like well more than a couple of shots in there for sure. Am now on a binge of watching 1960s/70s luchador movies, such B grade quality but heaps of fun.
Ted Cat is looking like a full on fluff monster Persian

Look at that majestic fluff. Looks like it’s been attached as a genetic afterthought.
Lovely fluffy boy 😍
Fluffy!
I’ve never given a fuck about sport tbh and never understood why people get so worked up and passionate about team sports in particular. Admittedly many sports folk are physically attractive but that’s where my interest ends 😆.
Maybe you have to be more inclined to be tribal in nature for team sports in particular.
For me, I love having something to stick on in the background, to occasionally watch. The kids love the idea of the best of the best smashing it out too.
The Olympics are the one time countries from all over the world come together in the name of friendship. Sure it’s an ideal, the world can be an awful place, but we need ideals to aspire to.
I love it so much.
Have you ever been in an office and you’ve scrunched up a piece of paper, aimed at the bin, got it in and others in the room gave a little cheer “shot wscholermann!”?
Well times that by 100. These athletes are the best of the best, on the world stage competing for a medal. Why wouldn’t you want to cheer these guys on?
I can honestly say that’s never happened to me.
To be clear I don’t wish people ill will, I’m just very meh about it.
In addition, Artistic Gymnastics is thing. I have so many new future husbands. 🤤
😂
You gotta love a man who can nail the perfect landing.
I don’t have any interest in everyday sports. I don’t watch it and don’t play it. (And I don’t gamble, which I think is a big attractor for some people being very into sports). But I enjoy the olympics to see some of the exotic sports like gymnastics and javelin and diving. I don’t really care who wins. And the olympics has a different atmosphere, it seems more pure or something? (I know it’s full of cheats, I mean it’s not for profit)
For me it’s something that I love watching and have taken an interest in. I listen to sports related stuff and it gives me something to do and enjoy.
I support a team and feel passionate about it to the degree that I hate seeing my team pounded and lose that I turn off the tv or switch channels.
I’m not sporty by any means but in a unique sort of thing it allows me to connect with people at work and have chats to people about it if they follow the same sport that wouldn’t otherwise allow me to because my other interests are something that are hard to talk about to others (gaming).

Some more steps in restoring a pair of antique chairs. Here I have started to strip the old chair seat off, , exposing the springs. I took all of it off, the cover and padding, took out all the tacks, then removed the base and springs. Then I reversed it. Put a new base liner on then sewed the springs back on, then wove new supporting webbing and stapled it on . Put the original kapok padding back on, then a new padding liner, then the tapestry cover. Lastly I will put on a strong fabric liner over the webbing and springs. Nearly done!

This is awesome. Thank you. I love seeing the restoration process.
thanks, it’s my first attempt at this kind of work too, the other chairs I did were just fabric and padding over a wooden chair seat
